Bobby Jones. He ran the floor like a gazelle, leaped over would-be defenders like a high jumper, and mastered the chase-down block. But Bobby Jones never really planned to make basketball his calling in life, and in some ways, maybe the game chose him rather than the other way around. He was tall, lanky, and when he jumped, he flew as far as he did high, making adjustments in the air as he risked his body to intercept a pass or send back an open layup. His emphasis on defense made him a valuable commodity, the type of player that turned good teams into great teams. At the University of North Carolina, Jones played three seasons for legendary coach Dean Smith and when he was only a sophomore, he won a silver medal at the 1972 Olympics. The Tar Heels reached the NCAA Final Four the same year. After graduation, Jones landed in Denver with the ABA’s Denver Nuggets, where he proved that defense was more than a passing fancy. He earned a spot on the ABA’s all-defense each of his two seasons in the renegade league before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. In Philadelphia, Jones solidified his status as the game’s best defensive forward locking up eight straight NBA All-Defense First Team honors. Jones helped the Sixers capture the 1983 NBA championship when he was named Sixth Man of the Year.

Hi Friend! I'm Lisa Whittle. If you are okay with feisty works-in-progress, we will be friends. If you love Jesus, we already have things in common. If neither of those things are true, you are still welcome here. I’m always honored when someone stops by. I’ve been loving Jesus for a long time, but I haven’t always served Him. At 6, I gave Him my heart and at 23, I surrendered my entire life to sharing His good news. For nearly 20 years, I’ve been honored to write books, speak all over the world, host podcasts, and launch ministries. I will never get over the joy of it all, but mostly just Him. My family is my safe place. I have 5 best friends: my husband of 27 years, my 3 kids, and my daughter-in-law. Good food, good conversation and a good sale are my love languages. My life isn’t easy or perfect, but it’s beautiful.

Jeff Rutt is the CEO and founder of Keystone Custom Homes, a Pennsylvania-based home building company that has built over 8000 homes. Jeff spent his early years growing up on the family farm, which became the focus of the early part of his career. However, after a series of No’s from God, Jeff eventually sold the farm and set out on a new path, that would eventually become Keystone Custom Homes.

God got Jeff’s attention very early in his career, especially in the area of generosity. It wasn’t long after starting Keystone that Jeff launched the organization that would become HOPE International. Since inception, HOPE has provided more than $1.5 billion dollars to more than 2.5 million small business owners across 24 countries in the form of microfinance loans in order to empower them to break their own cycle of poverty with the gifts God gave them. Over the years, Jeff has used profits from Keystone to fuel HOPE’s mission. However, he took things another step further when he gave away 89% of the ownership of Keystone through the National Christian Foundation.

Davey Blackburn and wife Kristi are living a beautiful story of redemption and healing, forgiveness and hope. What the enemy meant to serve as roadblocks in each of their lives, God has shifted into opportunity — opportunity to serve, to love, to learn, to grow, and to impact others for eternity. Living in the Indianapolis area alongside their three children, Natalia, Weston, and Cohen Davey and Kristi strive to be beacons of God’s light and love, and showcase the power of His redemption to both their neighbors in Indianapolis and to individuals around the world.

The interwoven story of the current Blackburn family dates back to several years ago… Tragedy struck Davey and Weston in an unimaginable way when Davey lost his pregnant wife of seven years, Amanda, during a home invasion. Amanda was shot three times in their home on November 10th, 2015, passing away in the hospital just 24 hours later. After Amanda’s passing, an urgency kindled inside Davey’s heart to intercept kids and teenagers in the inner-city Indianapolis area before they might step into a life of crime and drug-related activity. This passion was a springboard for Davey’s praying and dreaming big as he processed the pain and hurt that stemmed from Amanda’s death.

After building one of Florida’s 100 largest privately held companies by the age of 35, Patrick Morley thought, there must be more to life than this. There’s gotta be.

Motivated by his own search for meaning, purpose, and a deeper relationship with God, he started a weekly Bible study in a bar with a handful of guys in 1986—a study that now reaches thousands of men around the world every week. Inspired and challenged by those studies and conversations, he wrote The Man in the Mirror, named one of the 100 most influential books of the 20th century. The deep hunger he saw in men for a more authentic life led him to start Man in the Mirror—a global men’s ministry impacting thousands of churches and millions of men.

Widely regarded as a leading authority on men’s issues, Patrick has written 22 books and more than 750 articles—all focused on helping men solve their most compelling problems. His books have been translated into numerous languages and printed in 48 countries. “The ministry of Man in the Mirror exists,” says Patrick Morley, “in answer to the prayers of all those wives, mothers, and grandmothers who have for decades been praying for the men in their lives.”

He graduated from the University of Central Florida, earned a PhD in management, completed postgraduate studies at Harvard Business School and Oxford University, and graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary. He and his wife live in Winter Park, FL. They have two married children and five grandchildren.

About Chip Dodd as told by Chip Dodd...

I have guided thousands of professionals from all walks of life and their families across the “Badlands” of addiction, stress illnesses, and burnout to the lives they were created to have. For 23 years, I was the Executive Director of The Center for Professional Excellence (CPE), which I founded in 1996. CPE was a powerfully effective treatment center that helped thousands get recovery of their hearts. Since 1991 up to the present, I have also had the privilege of getting to share the purpose and life-changing benefits of the Spiritual Root System with countless others through consulting, mentoring, speaking and writing. Those people, in turn, have helped thousands awaken to the lives they were created to have. I want us to have impact for ourselves and the society we can benefit. Together we can do more than we could ever do apart.
The Spiritual Root System (SRS), I developed in 1991. It is a simple and effective way of seeing how we are made, and integrating how we are made into the lives we desire. The SRS’s starting point states that we are created as emotional and spiritual creatures, created to live fully through relationship with ourselves, others, and God.
I wrote The Voice of the Heart in 2001, which teaches the importance of feelings as tools and gifts that can assist us in living fully. This seminal work continues to impact people’s lives all over the world. Each successive book, Needs of the Heart, Keeping Heart, The Perfect Loss, Anthem to the Invisible (a novel), Parenting with Heart, Hope in the Age of Addiction, and How Are You Feeling Today? (children’s book), all speak to our desire to live a full life, love others well, and lead lives that benefit others.
In 1990, I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling at the University of North Texas and beforehand, attained my M.A. in English from the University of Mississippi in 1985. While in Texas, I cofounded Bent Tree Counseling Center in Dallas. I served as the Clinical Director until moving to Tennessee to continue work with organizations, professionals, and their families.
Sonya and I married in 1983; we found each other in high school. We have two grown sons and we currently live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, our hometown.
