Picture this: After a long day of filming the cameras are being packed away, the hustle of the day is winding down, and I find myself on a couch with my team, casually discussing ALT, our upcoming live event in Newport Beach, CA. We talk about why so many dynamic women aren't seen on the biggest stages and the importance of amplifying their stories.

My hope is that by sharing this conversation, you'll gain a glimpse into the discussions happening behind the scenes and find inspiration to embrace your own truth.

  • This week let’s talk about your relationship with competition.

In an industry where the barrier to entry continues to decline, the frustrations around differentiation are rising, and the copycats are multiplying, staying relevant can’t be a passive endeavor. It takes an intentional commitment to innovation, to thinking unconventionally, and to build an ecosystem that inspires them to take bold, empowered action; today we are going to talk about the cornerstone to keeping your competitive edge.

Here’s what I believe to be true: Competition is healthy:

Truly staying ahead of your competition in business: FIRST and foremost has everything to do with your mindset. If you aren’t embracing competition as an opportunity, the tactics won’t matter. In fact, staying competitive isn’t really about competition at all. It’s about keeping our head down and focusing on our own connection with our most valuable clients, differentiating ourselves, (not following the crowd) and continuously innovating as thought leaders.

Join me for this episode of The Fierce Factor podcast as I share with you ten strategies that our clients are implementing to propel their competitive advantage.

    Enjoy!

  • In this week’s Fierce Factor Podcast episode I’m going to share key insights into what has been the key to sustainable peak performance in some of the most high growth businesses I’ve coached, and for myself!

Peak performance means having the ability to operate efficiently with speed and agility while simultaneously allowing our inputs to grow fruitful dividends over time.

As a former collegiate athlete the younger version of myself, I think my perspective about peak performance was distorted. In fact, I would have scoffed at the idea that time away from my sport would be a catalyst or let alone a minor contributor to my peak performance as a soccer player. But as I look back at the bigger picture I can see things from a new lens.

Here’s the main idea: the key to sustainable peak performance isn’t about the performance at all- it’s about setting up an environment where your business can grow and thrive.

That includes creating open space and time to think and plan to bring our best selves into the game of execution. It means surrounding ourselves with the right people who will uplift and support us versus staffing a team of employees, partners, and vendors who drain our energy and business’s resources.

This week I’d like to share five critical reframes that will keep you “in the game” of sustainable business growth.

  • This 200th episode of the Fierce Factor is dedicated to my fellow soul sister entrepreneurs, the ones out there tirelessly building empires while juggling countless roles and responsibilities. I see you. You're the unsung heroes who keep the wheels turning, often without acknowledgment or respite. Your days are a whirlwind of action, fueled by ambition and the relentless pursuit of results.

But amidst the chaos, do you ever pause to acknowledge your own need for stillness and recognition? Do you allow yourself to envision a life beyond the constant hustle? I understand the struggle because I see myself in you every morning, staring back in the mirror.

Truth be told, even I personally have found myself grappling with the concept of letting go, learning to relinquish control and embrace the process, even when it feels uncomfortable or uncertain.

You see, much like cultivating fine wine, building a business requires patience and dedication. It's about nurturing growth, pruning away the unnecessary, and allowing space for greatness to flourish. But too often, we get caught up in the illusion of speed, mistaking busyness for progress.

So I ask you this week, goddess, where are you half-committing in your life? Are you holding onto control out of fear or reluctance to delegate? Are you clinging to familiar habits instead of embracing change and growth?

The journey to success is not found in shortcuts or imitation. It's about doing the gritty, unglamorous work in the messy middle—the kind of work that requires courage, resilience, and a willingness to confront discomfort head-on.

Success only comes by fully committing to the process required to achieve it. Tune in for some inspiration and food for thought about your growth path and legacy.

    Enjoy!

  • In this week’s Fierce Factor episode we are going to explore a self-reflection of who you are as a leader of your business and team, and how that dynamic impacts your aspirations as a thought leader.

I chose this topic for today to speak to the deeper depths of thought leadership for female entrepreneurs. Because what I have found is that thought leadership often “sounds sexy”, looks attractive on social media, and can be quite fulfilling to the ego AND to the bank account. And honestly, being a thought leader allows the creation of tremendous impact in the world.

But there’s also a responsibility that comes with elevating yourself into a thought leadership role. And that is something that is often overlooked.

Thought leadership isn’t just about thoughts. It’s about having someone to lead, guide, and influence.

And while an obvious part of developing our thought leadership is seeking new stages to stand on, let’s not neglect the very system that allowed us the freedom to explore and expand in the first place.

As it relates to the work we do at KLC, that means tethering a line to your beautiful business and team.

I’m this session we will explore five potential landmines that could detour your thought leadership ambitions, and my hope is that by recognizing these often overlooked mis-steps, you can devise a plan that supports both your quest for evolving as a thought leader AND the engagement, buy-in, and support of your employees.

  • This week’s Fierce Factor podcast episode kicks off a brand new series leading into our upcoming 3-day boot camp coming up on Jan 29-31st where we will be teaching our 3 part framework for developing your thought leadership, personal brand, and market visibility.

And if you are a female business owner who is even thinking about HOW you are going to show up and lead with your most dynamic presence in 2024, save the date for our boot camp and get excited because you are really going to enjoy the next 6 weeks of programming from KLC.

I’ve worked with some of the most brilliant minds on the planet whose messages become diluted by the big stage pay-for-play speaking opportunities in which their personal message is just lost, or their own insecurities around stepping onto a bigger stage.

And there’s no reason for that.

It’s time for change. There are too many women who have something profound to say, are Inspired, provocative thinkers, and they just aren’t busy talking about trends, but are quietly investing in building the market where those trends will exist.

    That’s true thought leadership.

Over the past several years I have seen a rise in ambition of women around the globe to expand and expose their voice to a broader audience- to create meaningful change in the world through their message, and to gain credibility and recognition for the trailblazing work they are doing on a daily basis.

And that’s why the obvious place for us to place our focus is cultivating this thought leadership on a deeper level. Taking these women from the place of leadership within their organizations to unleashing their authentic leadership onto any kind of stage they so desire.

This week we will kick off the series with a bonus replay of one of my most highly requested episode topics: “How to become a more dynamic communicator”.

Because whether you signed up for it or not, leading a business and team is a job that requires you to access your most dynamic executive presence and communication skills.

  • Happy new year, WELCOME to 2024!

It’s likely that you are doing your own visionary planning and clarifying objectives to really get centered around your priorities for the season of growth you are in this year.

I can’t emphasize enough how critical it is to be working on the RIGHT activities in your business.

The aesthetic industry has experienced a lot of tailwind over the past couple of years with the post pandemic wellness surge, a great economy, a piqued interest by private equity investors, and an onslaught of demand for aesthetics in general.

But going into 2024 we are already seeing that economic cycle changes are going to impact the passive growth that so many aesthetic businesses have experienced.

Businesses with strong positioning, infrastructure, and team are going to literally steal marketshare this year because of the investments its leader has made around business readiness and sharpening their emotional leadership through times of adversity.

And that’s really our schtick over here. We want to help our clients master the agility and prowess of leading through all seasons.

Our agenda as a company this year is to help our clients master the building of a great company from the inside out because this is what it takes to experience sustainable, joyful growth. We are going to teach the market how to give your brand staying power- where clients will stay longer, spend more money, and tell more people about you.

In this episode, I am sharing with you how KLC can be a partner catalyst to help you absolutely freaking dominate 2024. Whether your goal is to rebuild your business model, scale up, or develop your personal brand and thought leadership- we have you covered.

It is all possible and the year is yours for the taking. Let’s go!

  • As we round out our 2023 year, I reflect back on wins, losses, and lessons learned. And I ask myself who I want to become in 2024. The question of what to work on PERSONALLY. I often ask this question because I think we are so programmed to think about business growth, but what about us as people? We need to keep ourselves sharp and growing as individuals

A client recently talked about her goal of “getting back to the basics”.... An objective that was so basic yet so profound.

Because as simple as it may sound, the reality is, getting back to the basics is not basic at all. It means cutting excess, it means changing course, it means rewinding and rebuilding, it means rewiring our minds. It means saying NO to opportunities and it means pushing out of our comfort zone.

Getting back to the basics would mean getting refocused on our foundation and indulging in “the now” versus rushing to the next thing or adding more. Sounds so straightforward yet feels so taxing.

I believe that the more successful we become, the more we expect of ourselves and others. And the more susceptible we are to fall into that insufficiency mindset- longing for more.

In this week’s episode I share a checklist for you as you enjoy your holiday break to really think about how you can get back to the basics in your own business and life.

I really hope you take some time to not just plan for your future in terms of what you WANT to accomplish, but also plan for what you are willing to give up to get there. Getting back to the basics with team, with systems, habits, perhaps with your business. Hope you enjoy this episode and as always share on IG what your biggest takeaway was!

  • In this week’s bonus episode of The Fierce Factor podcast, I am re-sharing an unedited (insider) discussion among our POP leadership academy led by our practice management strategic growth advisor, Justyn Green.

Quite often our clients come to us at KLC to leverage our team’s experiences as an industry reps and managers and together we prep to guide them through the decision making process of bringing in new products lines, services, and energy based devices into their practice; Justyn and I agree that at the end of day working in allegiance with industry can be hugely beneficial to helping aesthetic practices advance their goal of driving more utilization of procedures and products. And there is an art to establishing partnership goals early with a manufacturer when you sign on to distribute their products (this includes toxins and fillers).

As a former leader of a multi-million dollar medical & wellness spa in CA, Justyn shares her insights from her tested and validated experience working alongside industry vendors to leverage their expertise, resources, collateral, and support in aligning with business growth goals.

This episode is jam-packed with practical tips that you do NOT want to miss- everything from getting more samples from reps to co-marketing with industry, to power pearls for negotiating when you’re ready to invest in your next device.

Heads up that this is not a scripted episode but a very special internal training session within our academy so you’ll hear questions and contributions from other members as they are sharing best practices with one another.

  • Have you ever considered what it takes to become a thought leader in the world? Well I have. In fact, in my past corporate role I was responsible for KOL (key opinion leader) “development”.

That meant I would seek to develop strategic partnerships with highly influential clients of ours who could be a spokesperson for our products. It’s a brilliant move on behalf of a company seeking to gain credibility through peer to peer selling.

But this scenario is not true independent thought leadership.

In this week’s Fierce Factor podcast I dive deep into the true essence of thought leadership, challenging the conventional understanding and adoption of “key opinion leaders” in the aesthetic industry.

    I’ll discuss:

The overuse and misunderstanding of the term "thought leader" in the industry. The distinction between being a public figure or influencer and being a genuine thought leader. The importance of legacy work over short-term achievements like hitting revenue goals. The role of self-leadership, team alignment, and integrity in true thought leadership. The need for thought leaders to push beyond their comfort zones and challenge the status quo.

Genuine leadership involves aligning with partners and actions that reflect your core values and long-term vision. I encourage you to reflect on your path to thought leadership to align your actions with true purpose.

    Enjoy!

  • Hello leader, welcome back to episode 190 of the Fierce Factor podcast. It’s your host Kaeli here bringing you an incredible gift of two inspiring and intentional business leaders in this podcast. Today I am interviewing Katie Speaks and Delaney Poor, Co-founder and Intraprenuer of Beyond Skin Aesthetics based out of Gahanna, Ohio. So a little back story I’ll share, I happened to be sitting at the same table as them at a conference this year and the whole table was having conversations about disgruntled employees who were becoming entitled and competitive over the commissions they were earning as providers for sales goals. And it was this totally unanimous tone that these employees were difficult to work with because they were so focused on earning potential. And I was thinking to myself “the irony”. Hire people, show them that the path to success is to be hungry to “sell” and then feel resentful that they are doing their job and expecting what was promised to them.

And from across the table these ladies spoke up and addressed the huge elephant in the room confidently saying that “the problem is less about the employee and more about the culture that the business owner had designed by incentivizing through commissions”. I was so intrigued by this confident statement that I began to ask them about their business, what success looks like for them, what motivates employees without commissionable earning potential, and how do they build culture in their practice AND hit their sales goals.

Well, that conversation was so enlightening that I asked them to come and share with all of you here on the Fierce Factor.

In this episode you will hear some game changing pearls that synthesize the entire philosophy of a life-first business, not just for its owners but for its employees. You will hear what an inside-out growth framework looks like, how the hiring and onboarding process is crucial to the long term success of an employee, and my personal favorite part of this interview- the raw perspective of the daughter of a serial business owner who lived the life as the daughter of a very busy working mom.

I just loved this interview with Katie and Delaney and can’t wait for you to take this masterclass on building a thriving culture.
