  • Episode 114 - Isaac Kenyon - Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge

    This week Eddie @edwinasutton and Gary @garythwaites2498 catch up with Isaac Kenyon and Trish is back!

    Isaac, recently become the first person to trail run the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge of 233km and roughly the height of Everest in elevation in 30 hours broken over 4 days. He ran for mental health and a film is being made out of this journey.

    He is an endurance athlete who holds the world record for the individual longest continual row of 3 days and 11 hours on a Concept II rower.     'The Lakeland 100 ‘Ultra Tour of the Lake District’ is the most spectacular long distance trail race which has ever taken place within the UK. The circular route encompasses the whole of the lakeland fells, includes in the region of 6300m of ascent and consists almost entirely of public bridleways and footpaths. The route starts in Coniston and heads South before completing a clockwise loop which takes in the Dunnerdale fells, Eskdale, Wasdale and Buttermere before arriving in Keswick. From here the route heads to Matterdale and continues over to Haweswater before returning via Kentmere, Ambleside and Elterwater to the finish at Coniston.' https://lakeland100.com/

    Lauren started running around 2009 after watching the Great North Run on television. In 2016 she joined her local running club and ran on the roads until lockdown in 2020. This sent her on to the trails. Once restrictions eased she started to explore the Peak District where she well and truly fell in love with hills, trails and fells.
