Paige walks us through her journey as a Western Tiger Mom, trying to find her way while rearing two daughters educated in Singapore’s local school system. From her personal experiences with her career-driven parents to applying her own parenting style with daughters Bee and Hilton, Paige shares her ups and downs of motherhood.
It’s not all bad as Paige shares heartwarming stories, though a few distressing ones to keep it real, including a weeklong dispute with Hilton over studying at Columbia University – and the reality of making hard decisions as a parent.

Paige first met Alfian a decade ago during a backstage tour with the theatre company Wild Rice, where he’s been resident playwright since 2004. Paige had heard many words to describe him – none positive, though she found him thoughtful and engaging. Since then, Paige has watched Alfian work his magic on Wild Rice pantomimes and other plays, while also voicing his opinion on politics and personal rights.
