A business plan serves as your guiding light, it provides clarity, direction, and focus.

Listen in as I share more in-depth on the 5 REASONS why having a business plan so important, and some examples of clients who were polar opposite on having one - or at least were at the beginning of working with me!

#1: A business plan forces you to clarify your vision and define your goals.

#2: A business plan helps you attract investors, stakeholders and impress lenders.

#3: Another key benefit of having a business plan is that it serves as a roadmap for decision-making.

#4: A business plan helps you monitor your progress and track your performance over time.

Finally, #5: A business plan instills confidence—not only in yourself but also in your team, your investors, and your customers.

NO MORE EXCUSES! It's time to start drafting your business plan. Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out, having a solid plan in place is essential for success.

  • HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION

Welcome back to another episode of "No More Excuses," where we tackle challenges head-on and empower you to take charge of your success.

As a DiSC® certified business coach, I’m really excited to dive into today’s topic, one that's critical for any business: hiring the right talent.

Over the years, I’ve had clients who just seem to have a revolving door of staff. And, although I am NOT a recruiter or an HR expert, I work with business owners to identify what’s keeping people from staying. And one of the BIGGIES is onboarding and training processes and procedures.

If you don’t have an HR company in-house or one you use when you need it, this is the time I would HIGHLY suggest you do! Listen – or watch if you're here already – as I share some ways how I helped a client remember where she had found her staff years ago! And, it's working again!

It doesn't always have to be in the same industry! It's no secret that building a dream team can make or break your business. But why is finding the right people such a challenge?

Firstly, it's about identifying YOUR needs and values. [This is where my expertise in DiSC® comes into play!] Secondly, there's the daunting task of sifting through countless resumes and conducting interviews, hoping to find that perfect match. [I have a client who has done this herself for years. She did use an employment agency for a short time, however their options seemed to not be working.] So, unfortunately you must find an agency that’s a good fit and focused on the “right talent” for your industry as well.

Listen in today to hear what a colleague of mine who runs an employment agency told me about this topic: "Hi Sandi, yes, one of the biggest challenges is defining what "the right talent" means for your specific business. It's not just about skills and qualifications; it's also about cultural fit and alignment with your company's values."

It's clear that hiring the right talent requires a strategic approach and a deeper understanding of your business's unique needs.

And is doing the process of hiring the BEST use of your TIME? Well, sometimes it is the "do it or pay for it" concept, but it's also about seeing what else you SHOULD be doing!

Now, let's hear from YOU, our Badass community for your Badass Challenge for the week. I’m asking you to share your experiences and challenges with hiring the right talent.

Yes, you have to listen in to get the challenge... and once you complete it by sharing in the comments or emailing me, you'll be entered to win a FREE Business Analysis! Let's look at what's working, what's not, and how to build upon the success you have [I promise, I won't just tell you what's wrong!]

Remember, building the right team is essential for your business's success.

Don't settle for anything less than the best. That's a wrap for today's episode of "No More Excuses."

Thank you Badasses, for tuning in. Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and leave a review.

    Until next time, BeBadass!

    Cheers! Sandi

  • HAPPY MONDAY [NOW THURSDAY] MOTIVATION!

Welcome back to a special anniversary episode of "No More Excuses".

I'm publishing Monday's podcast TODAY (aka Thursday), because it was EIGHT years ago today that I started this podcast!

But before we dive into today's theme, let's take a moment to celebrate this milestone!

    Cheers to all of you!

From wherever we were in 2016 to where we all are today... I'm grateful for, and appreciate each and every one of you who has joined me on this incredible journey!

Eight years of a MOSTLY weekly podcast! At the end of 2023, I had a lot of shit going on, and I missed a few weeks here and there, but hey - I heard from you, and well, that KEPT ME GOING!

So today, let's talk about “STICKING WITH SOMETHING”.

I've personally now had 8 years of podcasting, and over 10 years of coaching and 29 years of being a business owner... I guess I'll stick with it!

Whether it's a business venture, a personal goal, or a creative project, staying committed in the face of challenges is no easy feat. But why is it so important, and how can we cultivate the resilience to keep going?

Sticking with something builds character and resilience. It teaches us discipline, perseverance, and the value of hard work. And, most importantly, it's the key to achieving our goals and realizing our dreams!

Listen in as I share more about this topic and how to keep going when shit's just getting tough! AND assign you your BADASS CHALLENGE!

  • HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION!

Welcome back to another episode of

    "No More Excuses".

Today, I want to discuss the topic that's near and dear to my heart—why it's crucial to keep learning, no matter where you are in your personal or professional journey.

Listen in as I share a Badass Moment of the Week from a client who shares WHY she – after decades in her industry – added yet another certification to her list!

And, from two others how their ability to understand the importance of continuing education has helped them grow personally and professionally!

But, most importantly, ALL of them are learning so they can help others!

It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned professional or just starting, the journey of learning never ends. It's not about staying relevant; it's about staying ahead.

But... yes, BUT what gets in the way of attending that class or conference or signing up for a new course?

    MONEY? TIME? AGE?

And I'm sure plenty of other BULLSHIT EXCUSES!

Identifying WHY you want to gain more knowledge is key! Like anything, "If it's important enough, you'll find a way. If not, you'll find an EXCUSE!"

What is something you'd LOVE to learn more about?

    What's stopping you?

Continuous learning is crucial to overcoming common barriers. And helping people step out of their comfort zones and take chances – like I discussed in last week’s podcast!

Listen in! Especially for the challenge at the end!

    Until next time, Stay BADASS!

    Cheers!
    Sandi

  • HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION!

Welcome back to another episode of "No More Excuses!"

Today, we're diving deep into the world of risks and the incredible rewards that come with stepping out of your comfort zone.

Let's talk about taking chances. It's easy to stay within the safety net of what we know – as I like to call it, “Your comfy slippers, favorite jeans & t-shirt world”, but growth and success often lie just beyond that boundary.

So, how can you overcome the fear of the unknown and start taking those leaps of faith?

Listen in today as I share a few stories; one from a client and one listener and some of mine... even one that cost me $$$$!

It's not easy to take those risks - even if you can calculate the results or have help! There's really no other way than do what Nike® says to do and JUST DO IT!

Fear can keep you from doing the simplest tasks like hitting SEND on an email that can help build your brand and share your expertise with clients and prospects. And keeps many people from living the life of their dreams.

Yes, it does help to have proven results or a guarantee of some sort. How will you ever know if you don't take the chance?

What chances have you taken? What REWARD did you receive?

Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and leave a review.

Want to learn how to take those chances? Join the next round of the Group Coaching! Sign up on my website www.BadassBusiness.coach to be added to the waitlist.

    Until next time, stay Badass!

  • HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION!

Welcome back to "No More Excuses," the podcast where we cut through the bullshit and get down to business.

Today, I'm zeroing in on a silent PROFIT killer of your business: inefficient processes and procedures.

These hidden time-suckers are eating away at your bottom line and arm you with three badass tips to whip them into shape.

Here's the thing, you've got a business that's running, but it's like a car with a flat tire – sure, it moves, but it's a bumpy, slow ride. Inefficient processes are like those flat tires, dragging you down and making every mile cost more in time, money, and sanity.

They lead to errors, delays, and a team that's frustrated and can deflate your team's morale. It doesn't matter if you're a sole proprietor or a multi-million-dollar business!

Processes and procedures help you reduce inconsistencies, mistakes and lost time fixing shit and handling angry customers!

Listen in as I share some examples of how I've helped clients identify broken and missing processes & procedures, and how by creating – AND USING THEM – has helped them increase productivity, reduce mistakes and create happy customers!

It's one thing to have them, it's another to FOLLOW them! We've all had a staff person, colleague – or someone at home – ask "How do we do this?" or continuously do something differently than you need it done. THAT should tell you something is wrong, missing or broken!

Share a process or procedure you put into place and has helped you succeed!

    Until next time... Be BADASS!

    Cheers!

Welcome to another episode of "No More Excuses" – the podcast that's all about kicking those excuses to the curb and taking charge of your business life.

I’m your host, Sandi Ballard, the Badass Business Coach™

Today, we're tackling a beast that haunts many entrepreneurs: burnout. It's that feeling when the tank is empty, but the race is far from over.

    BURNOUT.

IT SUCKS! It's the silent epidemic among business owners. It creeps up on you like a shadow, and before you know it, you're feeling exhausted, snarky, and just can't muster the enthusiasm for the grind anymore.

It's the result of relentless stress, the kind that comes from wearing too many hats, the pressure to succeed, and the fear of letting down clients, employees, or even yourself.

Business owners, like you, often push yourselves to the limit and that's when it happens.

Burnout is the enemy of progress. It's the brick wall between you and your goals. Learn to recognize the signs early and use the tips in today’s podcast to overcome it or ward it off like a cold you feel coming on.

Remember, burnout is not a badge of honor; it's a roadblock to your success. So, let's crush it before it crushes you.

No more excuses AND No more burnout.

Just pure, relentless progress. I’d love to hear from you – how do you overcome or avoid burnout? Comment or email me at [email protected]!

Keep thriving, and until next time... Stay BADASS

  • HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION!

Welcome back to another episode of No More Excuses where we dive deep into the world of entrepreneurship and business success and create alignment for personal and professional growth.

I'm your host Sandi Ballard, The BADASS Business Coach™, and today we're tackling the topic of the dreaded financial trifecta.

So, buckle up, because in the next 10 minutes, we're going to turn those fears into fuel.

First up, lack of access to capital. Moving on to the bane of our existence – insufficient cash flow. And then let's talk about consistent revenue growth.

And it doesn't matter if you're just starting your business, or have been in business for 20 years, it happens!

And those fears have caused many people (some were clients) to quit and go back to a traditional j-o-b. I've also had clients that took on a second form of income to help during slower times, which can many times lead to a secondary stream of income (just make sure they're aligned!). If any – or all – of those make you cringe, then listen in to dive deeper, hear some of my stories, and for three tips on how to overcome the fears. It can be scary, and that's why I always make sure my clients have a strong relationship with their financial advisor, CPA or even a financial coach to keep you stay (or get out of) debt, potential tax trouble and most importantly, IN BUSINESS!

What are your biggest financial concerns you've had, and how'd you overcome them?

Or what ones do you currently have?

I've been an entrepreneur for almost 30 years... trust me, I've had them all!

Comment or email me: [email protected] - or if you need deeper financial help, I can connect you with a financial professional as well!

OR if you ARE a financial professional, what tips do YOU have?!

We've ALL been there! Shit happens! You just have to find the help you need to succeed!

    Cheers!

Welcome back to another episode of "No More Excuses" where we dive deep into the world of entrepreneurship and business success and creating alignment for personal and professional growth.

Listen in today as I'm tackling the topic of making changes for the month of February.

Last month, I discussed strategies to start the year strong and set the stage for success. Now, it's time to take a closer look at where you stand and make the necessary adjustments.

It's essential to remember that change doesn't always mean abandoning what you've been doing. Instead, it's about fine-tuning and optimizing your approach! If a particular strategy isn't yielding the desired results, consider tweaking the variables rather than scrapping the entire plan.

Just remember, February is not just another month; it's an opportunity for refinement and progress. Embrace change, review your strategies, and propel your business towards even greater success.

CHANGE is Only Painful... if You RESIST!

What will you CHANGE so you can GROW?

This is the fourth week that I’ve shared business tips to help you kick-start your year and make sure you are creating momentum like a BADASS!

As we’re getting settled into the first month of the new year, it’s time for a progress check. This is when I have my clients – and myself - really look into how things are going – the good, the bad, the what the hell?!

**Ruthless Progress Reviews**: What's working? What's not? No sugarcoating, no mercy. **Adapt or Die**: Your plans not sacred. If it's failing, tear it apart and rebuild. **Unyielding Forward Charge**: Every day you're not advancing is a day wasted.

So, once you’ve done your check-in, how are you doing? Like I said in Tip #1, BE HONEST! Once you identify how things are going, look at WHY!

Did you make progress... or NOT?

    Listen in and decide:

"If you really want something, you'll find a way, if not you’ll make BULLSHIT excuses."

Today I share a progress check with a client, AND something I realized after TWO years, wasn't working. It was time to make a change!

You know what I like to say:

"Business ownership is going to be work, but it doesn’t have to suck!"

And now, it’s time to get off your ASS, make the changes in your action steps and get back to it! So, what do you NEED to do?

AND today I share a hefty BONUS TIP on how to make progress on shit you don't want to do!

If you’re interested in that, email me!

Now… it’s time to TAKE ACTION!

Which tip helped you the most? Post, share, email me… find me!

Welcome to the podcast, “No More Excuses” where we're kicking off the new year with a bang and setting you up for a year of crushing goals and living like a BADASS!

I’m Sandi your host and The BADASS Business Coach™!

Last week I started with three business tips to help you kick-start your year! It doesn’t matter if you’ve owned your business for many years or just getting started, these tips will help you revamp, recharge, and revitalize your business strategies!

    Last week’s tips were:

Develop your vision statement (or review it and make sure it’s still relevant) Set your goals – long term, short term, just get them written down! Create your plan – the plan is the road map, the HOW part of achieving your goals!

If you haven’t listened into last week’s podcast, you should as this week will build upon them – as will next week!

Now, grab your notepad, and listen in! [or watch on my YouTube Channel!]

    Tip #4: Embrace Habits

Habits will help you stay consistent! Easy to start, hard to keep going... right? Habits help you create momentum and you'll see the progress you need to keep going!

    Tip #5: Ruthless Prioritization

Time is your most precious resource, and it's time to get ruthless with it. It all has to get now, but unless you've figured out how to duplicate yourself, it can't! By prioritizing, you can stay on-task and get shit done!

    Tip #6: Embrace the Chaos

Business is messy, unpredictable, and downright wild. One of my taglines is “I help people manage the mania of business ownership!" Trying to find a way around the shit storm is not the way! Embrace it and enjoy the ride! And, pay attention to the lessons along the way!

Listen in and share which tip resonates with you the most and, which one you'll take ACTION on TODAY!

Welcome to the podcast, “No More Excuses” where we're kicking off the new year with a bang and setting you up for a year of crushing goals and living like a BADASS!

I’m Sandi your host and The BADASS Business Coach™!

It's a new year, and you know what that means – it's time to revamp, recharge, and revitalize your business strategies. Over the next four weeks, I’ll be sharing three tips to help you unleash your badassness and get your year, and your business started off strong!

So grab your notepad, and listen in! [or watch on my YouTube Channel!]

Today, with the holidays officially over and people are really looking at HOW to START the year off STRONG, I give you the first three tips to...

Get OFF your ASS and do something your FUTURE-SELF will THANK YOU for!

Yes, even if you already have set things up for your year [if you have, a giant-ass high-five to you!], but take some time to listen in and make sure you're set up for SUCCESS!

Here's a View, and then listen in to get the full concept of the tips.

Tip #1: Develop YOUR Vision –

Before you do anything else, you need to know your WHY! And, Dare to Disrupt! What's status quo in your industry and how can you play BIGGER?

    Tip #2: Set Goals –

Goals are the checkpoints on your path to success and domination in your industry to be the disruptor! They're not just wishes their commitments.

Tip #3: Creating the Plan –

A vision without a plan is just a hallucination! And a goal without a plan is merely a dream. How can you get that next level without the plan? I talk about my lack of having a plan in my first book "From There to Here."

NOW it's time to: [Bonus Tip] Take Action!

None of these tips mean a thing if you don't put them into action. So, listen in and then TAKE ACTION on at least ONE tip!

And if you want all of the 10 tips go to my website BadassBusiness.Coach, enter your email and you will receive a downloadable PDF of all 10 even before they come out in the podcast.

Welcome back to the podcast No More Excuses...

    and Happy New Year!

Today is the beginning of a new year, but does that mean it needs to be a new YOU? NO!

Whoever said that clearly needs to update their thoughts about themselves! We don't need a "NEW" YOU, we need to evolve, change and grow!

Today starts off a new Chapter for all of us, including myself. And with my podcast, my new chapter is having my first interview in years! If you've listened for awhile, you know it's just me rambling some shit, hoping to inspire and motivate you to STOP with the bullshit excuses! Then, I met Moza Bella! She inspired me to do something differently! And that is to have monthly guests!

I'm so lucky to have met her and have her on my podcast!

Moza is a strong woman, who has written many chapters over the years and now she helps others do the same! She and her business partner, Scott, joined me for today's podcast.

Listen in and share what NEW CHAPTER you are writing!

  • Happy Monday Motivation!

Welcome back to my podcast, No More Excuses!

I'm jumping right in with the theme and the question for today's podcast:

Who’s helped you the most this year?

That’s a question I ask ALL of my clients this time of the year!

Asking you that is meant for you to pause and reflect on the WHO part of your year. And, like many of my clients, it could be many people, in different areas of business and life or it could be one. That part is up to you!

Why is this important? Yes, recognition to the person, people, or group, but more so allowing you to realize the WHO in your world that is supportive of you and your efforts!

It's not like I’m suggesting you get rid of people who DON’T help you or just don’t stand out in your mind, but this is sometimes eye opening about WHO is in your world and how they have helped you get to where you are today!

We all need cheerleaders, but we also need people to align with your dreams and goals, not just say, "hey great job!" There's something different about the person or people that come to mind when answering that question!

Listen in and then make YOUR list!

And then, it probably is a great idea to at least let them know how much they meant to you, and HOW they helped you, as sometimes whoever has helped you, may not even know they have or that it meant that much to you.

Comment below or email me and just an FYI, this is the last podcast for the year – I’m taking the next two weeks to recoup from hand surgery, enjoy the holidays and prepare for 2024, as changes are coming in the new year to the podcast!

Jan 1st episode will include two badass special guests! So make sure you are subscribed and be ready for:

    NEW YEAR and NEW CHAPTERS!

    Cheers!

  • Happy Monday Motivation!

Welcome back to my podcast, No More Excuses!

As we begin December, we have a lot of distractions with the holidays. This month can be stressful and it can steal your focus from you and your ability to achieve your goals.

And... I’m not the only one talking about how to “Finish the year STRONG!”

This is the time of the year when I ask my clients – and I'm asking you – not just “How will you finish the year strong?” but also, “What will you do DIFFERENTLY to help you FINISH STRONG?”

Consistency is a big part of success, but the more important thing – as I preach all year long – is to check your progress and see how you’re doing. With four weeks left in the year, how will you finish strong? How will you finish strong if you are not making progress? That’s where finishing and doing something DIFFERENTLY comes in. Think back to how you finished last year. Did you achieve your goals? Or are you working on the same goals you had from last year? If that’s the case then, do you really want to finish the same? What will you CHANGE to make sure you finish the year DIFFERENTLY?

Listen in as I give you examples of common personal and professional goals and how to determine whether you need to do something differently or not.

What’s worked and not worked? And the million-dollar question: “Are you open to trying something different?”

Are you satisfied with where you are, or are you settling?

Are you already thinking to yourself" “There’s always next year!”

The people who tend to say that are the ones who just give up at the end of the year.

My challenge for you today – and this week – is to really look at where you are with your goals and identify what is least ONE thing you WILL DO differently to end the year

    STRONG AS FUCK!

    and a little differently!

As always, please feel free to post or comments, questions or email me at [email protected]. I’m here to help! I’d love to hear what you are doing DIFFERENTLY to finish the year S.A.F?

    Have a great week.

PS: Watch for changes with the podcast next year! Including special monthly guests, getting back to my more edgier-self, promos just for you listeners, and a website dedicated just to this podcast!

    Cheers!

A couple weeks ago I did a talk and social media posts focused on “patience”. What came up during that time, was learning whether you “want” or “need” something immediately.

When we’re impatient, we can get demanding. And impatience – as I mentioned in my talk – stems from frustration, stress, and fear. When you’re “asking” for something to happen faster than normal, quicker than the person anticipated, or even before the deadline, WHY?

Do you really NEED it NOW? Or do you WANT it?

It doesn’t matter if it’s business growth or getting something done at home... WHY does it need to happen NOW?

Listen in to hear me ask you PLENTY of questions about YOUR impatience and where it stems from!

So many times our impatience stems from something we allowed or didn’t think through.

How did we get to where we live in such an impatient world?

Wouldn’t you like to have a bit more calm in your life?

I know shit happens, but again, most of our impatience we bring on ourselves.

This podcast is about MOTIVATION, and many times our motivation gets lost along the way.

Listen in, identify where you are most impatient, WHY and during the holidays, take some time to practice turning your IMPATIENCE into MOTIVATION!

The MOTIVATION to do MORE. Get MORE. Achieve MORE!

Feel free to connect with me to discuss!

    Cheers!

Welcome back to my podcast, No More Excuses!

Thanks for being here for listening and sharing this podcast with others.

Yes, I asked you WHY are you ungrateful?! That may seem a little counterintuitive, considering this week is Thanksgiving, and most people are asking what you are thankful for! But, I have a reason for this, and I guess you’ll have to listen and understand lol!

With everything I’ve talked about over the years, we all run into moments when we are ungrateful, afraid, stressed, sad, frustrated or even pissed off! And as much as I have you review your goals, and adjust your plan, you need to do the same with your emotions and how things are going because that’s a direct effect on everything – including your business!

    So think about...

    WHY ARE YOU UNGRATEFUL?

If you’re feeling ungrateful, why? If you’re feeling pissed off why? If you’re feeling frustrated or overwhelmed again why? And how is that feeling affecting you personally and professionally?

So that’s the concept of today’s podcast. Listen in, work on the activity I give you, and then share if you are struggling with the WHY or HOW, contact me at [email protected].

And then have a very INTENTIONAL and GRATEFUL Thanksgiving!

    Cheers!

  • HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION!

Welcome back to the weekly podcast, No More Excuses!

You can also view the video on my YouTube channel!

This week isn't necessarily focused directly on business ownership or leadership, but what it is about, is what we can do as people – as humans to inspire others. It COULD be through our business, the company you own, the products or services we sell or support and even the people we lead.

What would you inspire them to do? And how?

I'm sure some of you may think you don't do anything important enough that would inspire someone. Or perhaps you're thinking I am a nice person. I am a good human, but how does that inspire someone to do more or to change a habit?

Well, obviously you'll have to listen in today as I give you many ways that you could inspire someone!

If you have staff, how do you inspire them to give you their all? How do you inspire them to work late or extra hours? How do you inspire them to STAY and, well perhaps inspire other staff members?

There's a lot of little things each of us can do that will inspire someone to change a habit, take tht first step to do something amazing, to get out of a situation, or just to carry that "pay it forward" type mentality of inspiring others as well.

Share in the comments or email me at [email protected] how you've inspired someone or perhaps how someone inspired you and how it's changed your life!

    Cheers!
