  • For this episode we extend the invitation to Tatiana Suarez: a Miami muralist whose lifelong commitment to fine art has led her to develop a style at pays homage to flora, fauna and feisty females in her eye catching large format pieces.Drawing inspiration from her Latin American roots, her rich and detailed pieces seem to recall a dream sequence from a movie, and seem to unsettle and reassure at the same time. It’s #mtnfantasymonth at Montana so there was no better time to connect with this figure sitting at the top table for contemporary muralism.Presented by Mark Dix.

  • Originally formed in Haifa, Israel, The Broken Fingaz Crew are a multidisciplinary art collective. They currently consist of three members: Unga, now based in London, plus Tant and Deso, who live in Tel Aviv.Coming from a creative and artistic background, they spent the early years of the crew’s existence throwing parties which they promoted with incredibly detailed, psychedelic posters, whilst developing their take on graffiti in the nascent national scene. It wasn’t long before they started working abroad, and significant steps in their development were made in the UK, the USA and Mexico as they worked on their collective approach to painting, sculpture, printing and installation.Their subject matter has made a significant evolution over the years, from early representations of sex and death to a more politicized view of the communication in their pieces. They are currently celebrating 20 years together with the release of their first book, Broken Fingaz, which dropped in early September via the Belgian publisher Lannoo.

For this episode of the MTN Podcast, we talked Unga, Tant and Deso week before the launch. During the interview, the trio talked about growing up in under the threat of missile attacks and bus bombs, their path from graffiti writers to versatile artists and Bono begging to secure their services.
