This episode might reflect one of the biggest "leapers" we've ever featured. Both geographically and in terms of educating her kids. Stephanie Murray was a young mother in Boston whose husband's work to her to Park City, Utah. She began by placing her kids in a Montessori school, before pulling them to homeschool. The Murray family quickly realized the need for a Christian school in their back yard andthe interest many other families had in what she was doing. It led her to create Telos Christian, and interestingly families of multiple faith backgrounds began to pour in. But how do you navigate a Biblically based curriculum in a town with many families who don't share those views and values? It's another inspiring story of someone making a way for Christian education in an environment where none exists.

It's no secret the presidential election of 2024 simply broke some people. But what if it broke one of your kids' school teachers? The Stigalls react to some headlines in the days and weeks surrounding this election. They also unpack what seems to be an attempt by some "red states" and their governors and legislatures to re-introduce Scripture and discussions of faith in the public classroom which is leading to more feuds in court. The bottom line? If the culture and how it impacts your kids is your concern - it's probably time to have an honest conversation with yourself just as the Stigalls do in today's episode. The only real fix to this starts in our own hearts and homes.

Are you a professional who thinks you don't have the time or resources to make a change in your child's education? One of the most impressive stories we've heard on the show is that of Constance Bradley. She began with a son in public school who was so bright he was simply left aside in the classroom. As the owner of her own real estate agency with a team of eight - Constance decided to homeschool her son and two other children. And she did it while keeping her agency running! But when her Oregon community took notice of what she was doing, she felt guided to partner with her church to create a community school for more families. In one year, Constance secured grant money, bought a building, and became director of Rogue Christian Academy which instantly welcomed hundreds of families looking for educational alternatives of their own. Hear how she did it, and the advice she gives you if you're feeling stuck or uninspired to "Make the Leap." But most important, how listening to God and being willing to evolve is critical to your child's ultimate success with learning.

Have you heard of RenewaNation? They are an organization near and dear to our hearts. They share many of the same objectives of our parent organization, The Herzog Foundation. In addition to impacting schools with a Biblical worldview, theirs expands into the church and the home as well. They say it is that three-stranded cord of church/school/home that, if properly aligned with a Biblical worldview can truly renew our nation. Hear how one of their executive directors - Josh Mulvihill explains his organizational roll in specifically counseling families on best practices to keep your kids and family on the right path in a cultural storm. From grandparents rolls to phones, politics and media - this is a great conversation to sharpen our focus!

If you're a concerned parent about the state of your community's schools, odds are you've heard of Moms for Liberty. They've played a big roll in the presidential election cycle, with candidates since the primaries attempting to court their support. They aren't a partisan group. They don't pledge to a particular party. But who are they? What are their goals? Is there a chapter in your neck of the woods? Jamie Tromba is one of the original chapter founders in the all-important swing county of Bucks, in the swing state of Pennsylvania and she explains how her chapter came to be and what they face in the fight to keep their kids' educations free from indoctrination.

With a major, national election just around the corner, the Stigalls contemplate with their pastor, Dr. Ken Parker the role of the church and its leaders' in discussing civics, voting, and education with our school-aged kids and how they do or don't compliment our primary focus - Jesus, and the Word of God. Is your church speaking up about the issues of the day and advocating for your Christian walk through your week? Is your church leadership bold, or lukewarm? Christian schools thrive when they're inhabited by students and teachers who come from strong, truth telling churches.

We bring back a familiar voice to Making the Leap this week. Ginny Gentles - a senior fellow at Independent Women's Forum - has now joined with a fairly new D.C. based organization called the Defense of Freedom Institute where she serves as the Director of Education Freedom and Parental Rights. Ginny's mission is to push for more educational freedom at the national level and make parents aware across the country of not only options to public education, but also holding the public school teachers' unions accountable. In this episode, we discuss her agenda and the obvious need that exists for parents to have as many options available to them as possible for their kids' educations. Sometimes we hear churches find reasons why opening their doors to Christian schools or homeschool programs doesn't work for them. We've never heard of a church totally destroyed, only for the leadership to declare - "We must rebuild, and this time with a school!" That's the story of Victory Church in Bloomington, Illinois - home to Foundation Christian Academy. Hear from the executive pastor Jarrod Herald who shares how a 23,000 square foot church had to be completely leveled after a fire and what his father, the senior pastor of the church said God asked him to do in a dream when it was time to rebuild. And like everything, when God is in the plan - watch how He works in this story!

While there's never been a bigger selection and menu of Christian media options today, there's also never been a more aggressive push to silence those products. That's why the National Religious Broadcasters exist as an organization - to advocate for and defend Christian programming. President of the NRB, Troy Miller has invited the Stigalls to participate in producing Making the Leap from their annual convention and they will return next year with their colleagues from the Herzog Podcast Network and the Lion to formally join the NRB. In today's conversation we get a peek inside the battles Christian programmers sometimes fight to get their products to market for their audiences. The NRB has been in existence for over eighty years when radio was the primary media delivery system. Today, Christian media has expanded to network television, satellite and streaming radio and podcasts, publishing, and much more.

If you're a parent, it's no secret the secular world is working overtime to drive a wedge in between you and members of your family. Chris and Julie Bennett have one of the most extraordinary stories of trying to listen and follow God's will for their lives while at the same time coming up against some of life's biggest challenges in their professional lives, in their health, and in their relationship with their kids. How do we as families hold it all together and keep "the main thing" the main thing? How do we battle loneliness, isolation and defeat from swallowing our kids? This was one of the Stigall's favorite conversations to date. It's fun, it's emotional, and it's thought provoking. Read more about the Bennetts' and their remarkable journey at fightforfamily.org
