  • There have been numerous legendary video game franchises that have profoundly impacted the gaming landscape, but none has done so quite like the Gears of War series. When the first Gears of War game was released back in 2006, it took the world by storm with its dark, gritty atmosphere and intense gameplay. Not only was the multiplayer experience incredibly fun, challenging, and competitive, filled with advanced techniques that were built upon in each and every title, but this game had depth. From brotherhood to family, sacrifice, peace, and war, this series has covered huge relatable topics.

Today, we are joined by the incredibly knowledgeable Julian, also known by his game tag as Civilknight, who has continued to follow and play all of the Gears of War titles to date. Julian delves deep into the mechanics of each game in the series and truly showcases to us why Gears of War is genuinely an amazing gaming franchise.

  • In this episode of Infinite Weekly, we are diving into mobile gaming! More specifically, we're exploring how mobile gaming has impacted the modern gaming world, with microtransactions and difficulties in big company games on modern gaming consoles.

Joining us today is Marco Kruger, who is a casual gamer and offers his perspective not only on mobile gaming but also brings up topics such as video games now being more of an experience rather than just a game to complete. We also talked about how both of us grew up with games and noticed that not only did we mature as individuals, but so did the gaming landscape!

This is truly a conversation by the campfire you don't want to miss.

  • It's time for MORTAL KOMBAT!!! With the announcement of the upcoming new Mortal Kombat 1 title, I thought it would be a great time to take a look back at the history of the Mortal Kombat franchise. I am talking about all the games, movies, lore, characters, and everything else that this amazing gaming franchise has brought to us for three decades now!

This is going to be a two-part series since there's just so much to talk about when it comes to the world of Mortal Kombat. Part 1, here today, will focus on all of the games, characters, lore, and the influence MK has had on the world. Part 2 will focus on all the movies, shows, comics, and fan-made projects!

Joining me to discuss all things Mortal Kombat is a very old friend of mine by the name of Jose Gonzales, who I believe loves this series just as much, if not more, than I do! If you love anything that has to do with the MK universe, whether it was a particular title, a character, or the Konquest mode from Mortal Kombat Deception, these episodes have it all! And this is also a good refresher to set you up for the brand new game releasing soon. So let's goooo!!! And remember to stay healthy, stay safe, stay TOASTY, STAY INFINITE!!!

  • A Live service game is a game that is constantly given new content added after launch and are designed to keep you playing and engaged for a long time. Despite a rough launch in 2017 Destiny 2 continues to be played by thousands around the world. Destiny has always had its dedicated fan base but why? What keeps players coming back? Is it the player vs player experience? The Deep Story? The Incredible challenges accomplished with friends!?

Today we are joined by the incredible Jahson Harris who will be helping us get deep into some of the story behind Destiny 2 and its ever changing competitive meta game. Thanks to the constant updates, players always have to learn and adapt to new strategies and things that come up when the developers make changes. These changes can range from changing guns and abilities to even enemy movements and patters in the games challenges.

Some deep conversations also arise today as Jashson and I talk about these developers who are making and changing or beloved games. Sometimes these developers can get a lot of hate but the truth is these people are just like you and I with friends and families despite what the cooperate overloads might make them do for money. Other topics include enjoying our personal journeys to whatever we want to accomplish and much much more!

(Just an FYI this podcast was recorded before some expansions and updates were released for the game Destiny 2; however, the concepts and ideas thrown in this episode are still valid not only for this game but for any other live service games and challenges in your life.)

  • Video game remakes and remasters have been all the rage these past couple of years. There have been some highs and some lows but I think its safe to say we now have a couple of titles that should be perfect examples of how to do any remake/remaster moving forward. The most recent example of a remake done to near perfection is the recently released Dead Space remake.

There was a lot to be worried about when this game was first announced because the original Dead Space was such a classic and was just THAT good. Cut scenes and fear factor were both in question as well as would anyone even care about going back into space and dealing with things beyond our imaginations after the release of the lack luster The Callisto Protocol? Would the people behind this remake give it the compassion, time and love that this classic truly deserved?

On this episode of Infinite Weekly we once again have Jake AKA Jaku helping us unpack the greatness that is this Dead Space remake. Jake and I have talked in length about the original Dead Space in a pervious podcast episode so if you have not checked that out that episode we highly recommend you do. This episode here was truly a joy to be a part of and so awesome to once again step into the world of action survival horror with Dead Space remake.

  • Infinite Weekly is back with my predictions and theories about the brand new, upcoming, Resident Evil Netflix series! And of course we have to address the announcement of the Resident Evil 4 remake!

In this brand new episode of the Infinite Lives and Games podcast I go solo mode into the two main reasons why I think the show is going to be another load of trash, why I think Wesker is alive in the show and in the actual games. Finally, we also address the remake of Resident Evil 4 and what I am excited about.

With the horrible track record of writers and producers doing these movie adaptations of my beloved franchise I really have lost faith…especially after that last Resident Evil movie titled Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. We don’t even have to mention the Resident Evil movies that came before that one because we all know how bad those were. It’s all about the money for these people. And!!!!!! let’s not pretend we are all not tired of the post apocalyptic zombie scenario! It’s been out for far too long and it does not focus enough on the areas that matter the most like character development, human interactions and things that come with dealing with zombies!

Today James Daniello shares his journey into actually becoming a game developer! We get to talk about what it takes to get into the field, the different routes you can get into, what the day to day job looks like and even managing a team and getting a product out! • Music in video games! Every single gamer knows that without music some of these experiences would not be what that they are today; it surprises me however, that this topic is not in a lot of big conversations when it comes to video games. Although it has gotten better over the years music in video games has not been given the limelight it deserves! A lot of people will without a doubt recognize the Super Mario Brothers theme, and almost every single gamer will tell you about Stickerbrush Symphony by the legendary David Wise for Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. I just like everyone else who grew up with video games will sit down and tell you the impact a lot of these soundtracks have had on our lives. The Stories! The Memories!

Season 2 of the Infinite Lives and Games podcast closes out with a very special episode and a very special guest! LennyJ who is a rising, musical solo artiest, changing the landscape of the music industry sits down with us today as we discuss video games music threw the ages, we talk about famous musical composers, favorite gaming soundtracks, talk about the inspirations behind his work and of this wonderful persons career and what he aims to do to change the world with his music. • This week marks the 1 year anniversary of the Infinite Lives and Games Podcast! It has truly been an awesome experience putting this show together and having people come on to share with the world their stories, their experiences, their lessons learned, with the games they enjoy. Multiple times threw out this first year of creating this beautiful thing I almost called it quits because of self sabotage. Self sabotage I learned strikes hard when you are about to level up, accomplish something big or step into a new version of yourself. I became afraid to step into who I was meant to become to lead the charge for what this podcast is supposed to do!

On this episode of the Infinite Lives and Games podcast I get up close and personal on the camera for the first time talking about everything that I learned doing this thing for 1 year. I really can’t thank everyone enough for all the support and all the awesome guest that have come on to speak. Special shout out to @mairu.gatari for being the best and of course @sassygallauren for all the love and support. This journey is just getting started. #InfiniteLives #stayhealthy #staysafe and of course #stayinfinite

  • What makes a good experience? What makes a good musical or novel or movie or gaming experience? These phenomenon's make us feel all types of things and they take us to all types of places. On this episode of the Infinite Lives and Games podcast we are once again stepping into the world of survival horror with a golden gem of a game that not only brings out such a great horror experience but also brings into context of what it means to be put into a world and kept in it. The world of Dead Space calls back and brings to life classic horror movies elements and tropes while at the same time, taking you threw a once in a life time gaming experience.

The guest on todays show is someone with a great knowledge of the film industry as he has dedicated his life to the awesome craft. Jake will take us threw his personal background with the film industry, and talk about one of his favorite games that really gets a lot of inspiration from a couple of the greatest horror films of all time. A big topic to come up on this episode as well is the notion of video games becoming more cinematic experiences rather than full gaming experience.

  • When was the last time you sat down with a group of friends or family members and enjoyed a nice board game? Its been a very long time for a lot of us and unfortunately it only gets harder as we get older and more and more advanced technology is released to snatch our attention spans away. What if I told you these things brings us closer together than any amount of online stimulation could ever do? What if I told you that actually sitting by the fire....letting your inner child out and being right next to your people was the most fun you could ever have in this world? I'm not saying technology doesn't have its merits because for goodness sakes we can play board games online now.

On this episode of Infinite Weekly I want to welcome back a special guest from season 1 of the podcast and a very close friend of mine Jeffrey Scott Arroyo (DECA). The last episode we did was on Super Smash Brothers for Wii U and you guys seemed to love this mans voice so it was only right to bring him back! In all seriousness, that episode was such a wonderful time and this episode here on board games is gonna be just as great! Deca has been collecting board games for 3 years now and has introduced his friends including myself into some of the most fun I've had in years. Put your phones away, pull out the table, bring the friends, bring the laughs, bring imagination, bring fun and love because its time to enjoy some good ole board games.

  • The way a lot of us speak and interact with our lovers, friends, family, teachers, and many others can be very different. The person we bring to the table and present ourselves with in the world adapts and changes to meet needs and certain conditions. It can be extremely difficult to balance all of these. Granted....we all know just being ourselves is key but what happens when you are fighting demons at night? Not the ones in your head but actual demons all while trying to have a normal school life!? You just never know what people are going threw.

A persona...…..What is a persona? For the first time ever Infinite Lives and Games gets into the popular gaming franchise know as Persona. In this awesome new episode of the show we not only tackle some of the questions that pertain to the Persona universe but also get to discover and learn about lore's, peoples interactions with each other and so much more. We start this journey in one of the earlier titles in the franchise to get to to know how things started...we start with Persona 3.

Christian Vega is our guest on the show today as he takes us threw his gaming history and gets down to what it is that separates Persona 3 from other games in the genre and why it means so much to him. If you liked the episode then maybe check out the man on his gaming twitch channel Twitch.tv/honeybunnheroyt.

Today on the first episode of Infinite Weekly for season 2 what better way to unpack this topic than to sit down with my greatest rival Devante Thompson AKA Krow! • You have to love humanity...sometimes we can be the smartest, most powerful, most genuine, most amazing species of this beautiful earth; at the same time however, we can be the most dumbest, most destructive, vile and nastiest things to ever walk the planet. It really makes you think about how much as a collective we still have to grow. On top of all of that and what we stand for here in our own world we are looking for more elsewhere in the universe for other signs of life and planets to explore. What does this mean for us exactly? Who are we really in the grand scheme of things?

This episode here on the Infinite Lives and Games podcast marks the first episode of Season 2 of the show! What better way to bring in the new season than with a little something different? Today we sit down with our splendid scholar of a guest Nick Eikelberry as we take a look at a series which really hones in on the questions we not only have about our own species but the questions we have about the possibilities that could be waiting out there for us out in the universe. The Mass Effect game series brings to the forefront questions about working together, the topic of good and evil, growth as a species, in depth dialogue and so much more! Strap in as we take you through a piece of gaming history and adventures through space!

  • Whether we want to admit it or not couch gaming hasn't been the same in years. Maybe its because we've gotten older and adulting has kicked in with families, work, and travels or maybe its because gaming companies have moved away from such experiences for online multiplayer and microtransactions; whatever the case, couch gaming has been at the center of many of our found memories. Remember when we used to trade cheat codes for certain games? What about those times you let a friend or you borrowed a game from a friend and kept it for years without even playing it? Today on this great episode of Infinite Weekly we sit down with Jonathan Reyes AKA one of my long time couch gaming buddies as we we sit down by a fire and talk about couch gaming, old school cheat codes, memories and even books!
