While building the business, these two have learned a lot about raising money, working with chain retail stockists, finding product-market fit, and up-leveling as entrepreneurs. Listen to their story on the pod!

  • Nancy Twine, the founder of Briogeo, is on the Female Founder World podcast with Jasmine Garnsworthy!

Nancy started her hair care business back when clean beauty was just getting started, and the movement really hadn't hit the haircare space. She used her savings to start the business and started a sampling strategy to get traction.

In this episode Nancy shares Briogeo's early marketing tips, how she's scaled a team and a business, and what life looks like now post-aquisition.

Billie's a razor brand, yes. But founder Georgina Gooley created a movement when she built the first women's razor brand that openly showed body hair and suggested women didn't have to remove it.

She's a brand-building genius—within four years of launching her razor biz sold for $310 million. Before that big milestone though, Georgie had to figure out how to create a thriving ecommerce brand, and eventually launched at Walmart.

In this interview she teaches us about finding 'brand-market fit' (rather than 'product-market fit' that everyone talks about), getting attention online, and how she managed to sell Billie razors in 50 US states right after launching.

When Rooshy first created her ayurvedic-inspired skincare line, it didn't exactly do well. She'd made some big mistakes with the branding, and customers weren't buying it. So, she redesigned her brand (all DIY, by the way!), and released something with a very different vibe, and it worked!

Since the relaunch, Rooshy has raised millions of dollars from investors to build the business and is about to launch into Sephora.

This is a really great conversation for anyone who is not sure whether their product or business is on the right track and where to make changes, or who needs some solidarity, inspiration, and advice on how to become a better leader and business owner.

  • Adriana Carrig, the founder of Little Words Project, is on the Female Founder World podcast with Jasmine Garnsworthy!

At college Adriana started beading bracelets for her friends with uplifting messages. People liked them, she spent $5,000 of her savings to turn it into a business, and realized this could be a big idea that blends profit and purpose.

She bootstrapped that business to become Little Words Project, a company that hit $20 million in annual sales last year! She has collaborated with huge brands like Dunkin and Barbie, is worn by Taylor Swift, and is sold in 900+ stores including Target and 12 of their own Little Words project boutiques.

I'm always fascinated by people who have the confidence to ask questions and show up for their business at such a young age, and build into something impactful. Adriana has some interesting thoughts on this in the show—what it takes to overcome that self-doubt, plus the specific approach that she took and that she believes made her business successful.
