Arsenal's welcome of Aston Villa is the standout tie of the gameweek as the Gunners look to remain in the driving seat to secure the Premier League title.

Villa are without starting central midfielders Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara - How will their respective absences hinder Unai Emery's side?

The panel also praise Jorginho and Kai Havertz, two unlikely heroes in Arsenal quest for the title and round off the Arsenal-Villa section with the combined XI.

Chelsea's meeting with Everton also falls under the microscope with the Blues struggling defensively and the Toffees falling to another points deduction on Monday.

Fresh from the midweek round of games, the panel delve straight into Manchester United's welcome of Liverpool. The Reds ultimately defeated Sheffield United to keep their title bid alive on Thursday night, while United were pegged back late on at Chelsea.

Can Ten Hag's side derail Liverpool's title bid on Sunday? They've already beaten them at Old Trafford this season...

Next up, the panel take a look at Tottenham's welcome of Nottingham Forest as Nuno Espirito Santo returns to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time.

  • Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan UK, returns to preview the weekend's Premier League action with George Elek and Sam Tighe joining Dan Bardell on this week's show.

Unsurprisingly, Manchester City's welcome of Arsenal is the main focus ahead of Sunday's potential title showdown. With Liverpool in action against Brighton earlier on Sunday, neither side can afford a slip up at the Etihad Stadium.

The main topic of discussion is Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka. There has been plenty of talk about the pair this season ahead of the monster meeting at the Etihad Stadium as we compare their respective campaigns.

The panel also discuss Kai Havertz's turn in form, Mateo Kovacic's debut season and how injuries might impact City's chances of securing all three points with a combined XI to round off this section.

Aston Villa vs Wolves is the other game in focus this week as Dan, George and Sam talk over Villa's midfield issues and how they'll fare against Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes, John McGinn's suspension and Pedro Neto's absence due to injury.

All that and more is discussed on Edge of the Box this week.

  • Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan, returns this week as Dan Bardell, George Elek and Jonathan Wilson preview the weekend's FA Cup and Premier League action.

First up is Liverpool's trip to Manchester United. The Reds geared up for Sunday's quarter-final tie with a rampant midweek win over Sparta Prague as the trio take a look at the impact of Mohamed Salah's return from injury, Alexis Mac Allister's form in the Liverpool midfield and the performances of youngster Jarell Quansah.

We also get their thoughts on Erik ten Hag amidst rumours he'll be relieved of his duties at the end of the season. Would defeat on Sunday spell the end for the Dutchman? We round off this section with the combined XI.

We then turn attention to the Premier League as Tottenham look to build upon last week's resounding win at Aston Villa when they travel to Fulham on Saturday evening. Spurs are likely to be without Micky van de Ven but they now have Radu Dragusin to deputise if needs must. After a solid cameo at Villa Park, the January arrival is in line for his full debut.

Dan, George and Jonathan also discuss Rodrigo Muniz’s emergence at Craven Cottage and what it means for Armando Broja, who joined on loan from Chelsea at the turn of the year.

All that and more is discussed on this week's episode of Edge of the Box!

  • Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan, returns this week as Dan Bardell, Ali Maxwell and Jonathan Wilson preview the weekend's Premier League action.

It's a monster weekend in the Premier League as Liverpool host Manchester City in a decisive clash in the title race. The Reds boast the second best defensive record in the division and we ask whether the Virgil van Dijk-Ibrahima Konate duo is the best in the league. With the latter now a doubt, how will that impact Liverpool on Sunday?

Liverpool are certainly getting the job done in their efforts to remain in the title race as they leave it late on to wrap up all the spoils and we assess the importance of their never-say-die attitude to maximise stoppage - or should we say Kloppage - time.

The panel also take a look at Jeremy Doku and whether City are better without the Belgian winger in the side? We round off that section with a combined XI.

It's an impressive undercard to the main event, too, as Aston Villa host Tottenham. Dan, Ali and Jonathan give praise to Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins, the Premier League's most effective attacking duo, and discuss Brennan Johnson's role as super-sub for Spurs.

All that and more is discussed on Edge of the Box this week!

  • Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan, returns as Dan Bardell, George Elek and Sam Tighe preview the weekend's standout Premier League tie.

It's the Manchester Derby on Sunday afternoon as Manchester United look to keep their slim Champions League chances alive. United booked their spot in the next round of the FA Cup in midweek but didn't look wholly convincing in their 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, which comes off the back of a 2-1 loss to Fulham last time out.

Conversely, Manchester City were rampant in the FA Cup on Tuesday night as Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne ran the show at Luton. Haaland netted five times at Kenilworth Road in the week to warm up for Sunday's showdown at the Etihad Stadium.

The panel discuss Ten Hag in more detail and ponder what 'The Bigger Picture' is for United under the Dutchman. United will be without Rasmus Hojlund once more for this one with the Danish striker previously in fine form prior to injury. How much of a blow is the absence of the young forward be for Ten Hag's side against City? Similarly, Luke Shaw's unavailability is also a huge blow for the red side of Manchester.

Dan, George and Sam also discuss whether Antony is the worst Premier League signing of all time. The big-money Brazilian started the defeat to Fulham on the bench, this despite the absence of Hojlund, with teenager Omari Forson preferred on the right.

All that and more is discussed on Edge of the Box this week.

  • Dan Bardell, George Elek and Sam Tighe preview Sunday's Carabao Cup final on Edge of the Box this week, with today's show brought to you by UltimateFan.

Chelsea look to have turned a corner ahead of the showdown at Wembley and are unbeaten in three, which includes a solid 1-1 draw at Manchester City. They look far more prepared for this month's meeting with Liverpool having been battered 4-1 at Anfield last month.

The Reds have a mounting injury crisis with Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota among those sidelined. Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai will also be assessed. Fear not Liverpool fans, though, as Luis Diaz is shining on the frontline for Jurgen Klopp's side.

There's also time to discuss Enzo Fernandez's form, Axel Disasi's Minecraft-like stature and a Combined XI to whet the appetite.

  • Dan Bardell is joined by George Elek and Sam Tighe as Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan, previews Arsenal's welcome of Newcastle.

Magic Martin Odegaard has been in superb form of late for the Gunners with the panel waxing lyrical about the Arsenal captain. The Norwegian is one of three Arsenal players to make the Premier League form rankings, topped by... well you have to listen to find out!

Bruno Guimaraes' form is also touched upon as Newcastle look to maintain their upturn in results. The Brazilian is about the only first team player for the Magpies who hasn't been injured this season.

Speaking of injuries, just how significant is Joelinton's spell on the sidelines proving to be for the Magpies? The Brazilian looks set to miss the remainder of the campaign and his absence is proving costly for Eddie Howe's side.

  • Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan, returns to preview this week's Premier League action as George Elek and Jonathan Wilson join Dan Bardell ahead of gameweek 25.

Chelsea's trip to Manchester City is the game in focus this week as the Blues look to build upon their 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on Monday night. Cole Palmer provided two assists in the victory as the youngster continues to shine following his arrival from City. Is he the signing of the season? At the very least - Chelsea FINALLY got something right in the window!

Elsewhere, the panel discuss Jack Grealish's lack of action for City, Thiago Silva's time at Chelsea potentially coming to an end and a combined XI dominated by the league leaders.

Sheffield United's welcome of Brighton also falls under the microscope after the Blades claimed a first away league win of the campaign at relegation rivals Luton last week. Just how important was that victory and will they build upon that triumph here?

For Brighton, Pascal Gross is proving a revelation for the Seagulls this season and the German is given some well-deserved praise on Edge of the Box.

Finally, West Ham are the team in focus after a terrible start to 2024. They ended 2023 so well but are yet to win a competitive match this year!

All that and more is discussed on this week's episode of Edge of the Box!

  • Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan, returns as Dan Bardell, Ali Maxwell and Sam Tighe preview the weekend's Premier League action.

First up is Manchester United's trip to Aston Villa as Erik ten Hag's side look to build upon their 3-0 win over West Ham. United's young trio - Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo - all excelled in that victory, with the panel wondering whether it's too soon for an England call up for Mainoo.

Villa will seek to bounce back from their disappointing FA Cup defeat to Chelsea in midweek and re-establish Villa Park as a fortress having lost back-to-back games.

The Blues' trip to Crystal Palace is also in focus. Chelsea have lost back-to-back league matches, conceding eight times in the process, but looked much-improved at Villa in midweek. A foundation for Mauricio Pochettino to build upon?

Victory may have eased the pressure on Pochettino but one man under the cosh is Eagles boss Roy Hodgson. Should he be sacked sooner rather than later? Who would take over at Selhurst Park for the final weeks of the season?

All that and more is discussed on this week's episode of Edge of the Box!

  • After a break for the FA Cup, Edge of the Box, in association with UltimateFan, returns to look ahead to the weekend's Premier League action.

Liverpool's trip to Arsenal is the weekend's must-watch fixture in a game that could have huge ramifications in the title race. Dan Bardell, George Elek and Jonathan Wilson give their opinion on Jurgen Klopp's departure at the end of the season and discuss whether he can guide the Reds to the quadruple.

Conor Bradley's impact, what it means for Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the impact of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez in the absence of Mohamed Salah is also touched upon.

Next up is Manchester City's trip to Brentford. The Bees were the only side to do the double over City last season. Is a repeat on the cards? With Ivan Toney and Neal Maupay striking up quite the understanding, they're sure to cause problems for the City backline!

The panel talk about Kevin De Bruyne's return to fitness and whether he is the best player to ever grace the Premier League.

The January transfer window is also analysed in what has been quieter month in the Premier League.

  • Edge of the Box is back to look ahead to the weekend's action as Dan Bardell, George Elek and Jonathan Wilson preview the biggest Premier League games.

Arsenal's welcome of Crystal Palace is first up as Mikel Arteta's side seek to avoid a fourth successive defeat of the Spaniard's managerial career. Do Arsenal still need a striker this month? If so, who? Are they well equipped to even challenge for the title!? Palace's summer signing Matheus Franca also falls under the microscope. In the absence of Michael Olise, should Roy Hodgson look to the young Brazilian to shoulder the attacking burden?

Liverpool travel to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon as they seek to maintain their title charge. The Reds, though, may be without their entire right side for the game on the south coast. How will the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and potentially Dominik Szoboszlai impact Jurgen Klopp's side? Bournemouth have been in good form of late after all!

Tottenham's trip to Manchester United is the pick of the games with Timo Werner in line to make his Spurs debut on Sunday. With Radu Dragusin tipped to feature too, will Tottenham's January signings push them towards the Champions League? Or will United bring the north London side back down to earth?

The panel also look into Newcastle's welcome of Manchester City on Saturday evening and assess how, or if, Kevin De Bruyne's return to fitness will impact Phil Foden's flying form. With the January transfer window in full swing, should Newcastle make a move for a new goalkeeper this month?

All that and more is covered in this week's episode of Edge of the Box!

  • Edge of the Box returns to preview the weekend's action as Dan Bardell, George Elek and Sam Tighe look ahead to gameweek 18.

Liverpool's welcome of Arsenal is the game of the weekend as the Premier League's top two collide in a huge clash on Saturday evening.

The Reds were surprisingly held to a goalless draw at home to Manchester United last weekend, but could spend Christmas atop the Premier League with a statement victory over the Gunners.

Also coming under the microscope is Chelsea's Christmas Eve trip to Wolves, and the Blues' multi-hundred million pound midfield duo Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who have so far failed to set the world alight in west London.

Mauricio Pochettino, though, is now able to call upon summer addition Christopher Nkunku after his return from injury, but will the Frenchman have the impact Chelsea fans are so desperate for?

The panel also discuss Wolves and just how unfortunate they've been this season with injuries and VAR decisions. But Matheus Cunha's uplift in form this term is a positive for Gary O'Neil, and the team dissect how the Brazilian has taken on the attacking output that the injured Pedro Neto would typically be responsible for.

Finally, this week's team in focus segment is replaced by a look at the panel's selections for the Premier League Team of the Season So Far.

Bukayo Saka or Mohamed Salah? Erling Haaland or Ollie Watkins? Which stars make the WhoScored statistical best XI? Who leads the running for Player of the Season?

All that and more are covered in the latest episode of Edge of the Box!

  • Edge of the Box returns to preview the weekend's action as Dan Bardell, George Elek and Jonathan Wilson look ahead to gameweek 16.

Liverpool's welcome of Manchester United is the game of the weekend as Erik ten Hag seeks to avoid a repeat of last season's 7-0 mauling at Anfield.

However, he'll have to do so without the services of the suspended Bruno Fernandes, while United have their fair share of injury issues to contend with. Surely another 7-0 isn't on the cards... right!?

Trent Alexander-Arnold is the Premier League's form player as the panel assess his recent impact for the Reds, while they draw comparisons between Darwin Nunez and Rasmus Hojlund with the latter struggling in his debut season in England. Virgil van Dijk has had more shots than Hojlund this campaign after all...

Attention then turns to the Sean Dyche Derby as Burnley welcome Everton to Turf Moor. The Toffees have quickly moved out of the relegation zone following their 10-point deduction and would be 10th(!) had they not been penalised.

Finally, Chelsea are the team in focus as the Blues struggle for consistency under Mauricio Pochettino. Is there a sustainable plan in place at Stamford Bridge?

All that and more are covered in Edge of the Box!

Aston Villa's welcome of Arsenal is the headline fixture this weekend. Villa's 14-game winning run at Villa Park started after their loss to the Arsenal in this fixture last season. Will they extend that streak on Saturday?

Manchester City's trip to Luton is also on the cards after the Hatters came close to earning a result against the Gunners in midweek. Will Rob Edwards oversee a return to winning ways at City's expense?

Finally, Nottingham Forest are the team in focus after their 5-0 loss at Fulham piled the pressure on Steve Cooper. Forest lose a number of players to AFCON in the New Year in what could be a testing period for the side.

Manchester United head north to face Newcastle at St James' Park after both sides were held to draws in Europe midweek. Which side will come out on top?

First up is Liverpool's trip to Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp's side haven't been victorious at the Etihad in the league since 2015 but after conceding four against Chelsea, is this the best time to play the reigning Champions?

Everton welcome Manchester United to Goodison on Sunday for their first fixture since the announcement of their ten-point deduction. They will need to start getting points on the board, and quickly, if they are to secure safety, will they pick up three here?

Chelsea welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge for the final Premier League game ahead of the international break. Can they build upon their crazy 4-1 win at Tottenham? Or is the welcome of this City side a bridge too far for Mauricio Pochettino's men?

All that and more is covered on Edge of the Box ahead of gameweek 12.

Tottenham's welcome of Chelsea is first up this week as the panel address the elephant in the room - Pochettino's return to north London. Will Poch spoil the Postecoglou party at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? One of the guys thinks so...

Arsenal make the trip to Newcastle on Saturday evening as they look to quickly move on from their Carabao Cup exit on Wednesday night. Not the game they'd want as they seek to maintain their unbeaten start.

Aston Villa are the team in focus this week as they look to - dare we say it - reinforce their Champions League credentials at Nottingham Forest's expense on Sunday. They are one of the form sides in the division after all!
