  • God’s face is a metaphor for his living presence. May His smile bless us with His love, mercy, grace and salvation.

I’m desperate, Lord! I throw myself upon you, for you alone are my God! My life, my every moment, my destiny—it’s all in your hands. So I know you can deliver me from those who persecute me relentlessly. Smile on me, your servant. Let your undying love and glorious grace save me from all this gloom.
    - Psalms 31:14-16 TPT

The Lord make his face shine upon you
    - Numbers 6:25a NKJV

    ‘May the Lord bless you
    and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
    and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
    and give you his peace.’
    - Numbers 6:24-26 NLT

We also read from Psalm 95:4 and Exodus 15:6.

What does it look like to put every moment of your life in God’s hands?

Blessing you to experience the favor of God’s rich presence in your life! Amen.

  • There will be hard things in your life. Jesus promised there would be. Who do we turn to when we have no more strength to face life’s challenges?

O Lord, help me again! Keep showing me such mercy. For I am in anguish, always in tears, and I’m worn out with weeping. I’m becoming old because of grief; my health is broken. I’m exhausted! My life is spent with sorrow, my years with sighing and sadness. Because of all these troubles, I have no more strength. My inner being is so weak and frail. My enemies say, “You are nothing!” Even my friends and neighbors hold me in contempt! They dread seeing me, and they look the other way when I pass by. I am totally forgotten, buried away like a dead man, discarded like a broken dish thrown in the trash. I overheard their whispered threats, the slander of my enemies. I’m terrified as they plot and scheme to take my life.

    - Psalm 31:9-13 TPT

We also read Psalm 31:1-8 in the beginning of this week’s meditation.

Blessing you to invite God into the hard spaces of your life. He will never leave you or forsake you.

May you come into a greater revelation of expressing your sorrow to the Lord, processing with Him.

  • Welcome to week 4 of our meditation through Psalm 31

God is drawing you into a beautiful place of freedom. We don’t have to suffer any longer from the yoke of slavery. We have been set free!

In mercy you have seen my troubles, and you have cared for me; even during this crisis in my soul I will be radiant with joy, filled with praise for your love and mercy. You have kept me from being conquered by my enemy; you broke open the way to bring me to freedom, into a beautiful, broad place.

    - Psalm 31:7-8 TPT

It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].

    - Galatians 5:1 AMP

    But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

    - Psalm 13:5 NASB

Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth!
Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains!
For the LORD has comforted His people
And will have compassion on His afflicted

    - Isaiah 49:13 NASB

Ask Holy Spirit to show you any areas in your life you need freedom. Jesus has made a way for you to step into freedom today.

Are you able to rejoice in Him today? Blessing you to break forth into joyful shouting.

  • No matter our level of faith in Him, God remains perfectly faithful.

Into your hands I now entrust my spirit.
O Lord, the God of faithfulness,
you have rescued and redeemed me.
    I despise these deceptive illusions,
    all this pretense and nonsense,
    for I worship only you.

    - Psalm 31:5-6 TPT

    It is a trustworthy statement:
    For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
    If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
    If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

    - 2 Timothy 2:11-13 NASB1995

I hate those who regard vain idols,
But I trust in the Lord.

    - Psalm 31:6 NASB1995

What does the God of faithfulness mean to you? What does He want to show you about His faithfulness today?

God is creator, designer, the one who formed us out of nothing. He is trustworthy. Blessing you to worship Him in awe and reverence of who He truly is.

  • The same God who delivered the Israelites from the Egyptians, is the same God who delivers you from trouble. Where does God wants to be your rock, your deliverer?

For you are my high fortress, where I’m kept safe.
You are to me a stronghold of salvation.
When you deliver me out of this peril,
it will bring glory to your name.
As you guide me forth I’ll be kept safe
from the hidden snares of the enemy—
the secret traps that lie before me—
for you have become my rock of strength.
    - Psalm 31:3-4 TPT

We also read from Exodus 14:13 and Matthew 7:24-25.

God wants you to have a pure and shining foundation, built upon his wisdom and truth.

Blessing you to stand firmly on The Rock of Jesus Christ today. Amen!

  • Welcome to the first episode of our series on Psalm 31. It’s been a few years since we’ve meditated on an individual Psalm, and it feels good to be back here doing so. Over the next several weeks we will focus on a few verses at a time. Enjoy!

I trust you, Lord, to be my hiding place. Don’t let me down. Don’t let my enemies bring me to shame. Come and rescue me, for you are the only God who always does what is right. Rescue me quickly when I cry out to you. At the sound of my prayer may your ear be turned to me. Be my strong shelter and hiding place on high. Pull me into victory and breakthrough.
    - Psalms 31:1-2 TPT

    We also read from the following: Psalm 119:114, Ezekiel 34:11, 1 John 5:15, Psalm 91:2, 1 Corinthians 15:57, and 2 Samuel 5:20.

Have you found your hiding place in God? May you come to know Him as rescuer. The One who loves the sound of your prayers.

Blessing you to know God is your strong shelter, drawing you into victory and breakthrough!

  • God does not lead us into temptation, He delivers us from evil. Better than any earthly father, His desires for us are always good beyond all imagination.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
    - Psalms 18:2 NASB

I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.
    - Psalms 34:4 NASB 1995

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
    - Psalms 34:17 NIV

This week we read Matthew 6:9-13 from GOD’S WORD Translation (GW). We also read from Psalm 32:7 and Galatians 1:4.

God is our sole deliverer, no one else. Who or what are you looking to for deliverance in your life right now?

May you remember the times God has shown up in your life, delivering you from evil. He is the good Father who rescues you from all the evils of the present age.

  • Peter asked Jesus if he was expected to forgive someone up to seven times. How did Jesus reply? Not just seven, “but up to seventy times seven.”

Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
    - Matthew 18:21-22. NASB 1995

For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
    - Matthew 6:14-15 NASB 1995

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
    - Ephesians 4:32 NASB 1995

We read Matthew 6:9-13 this week from the Common English Bible (CEB), in addition to Colossians 3:12-13 and Mark 11:25.

Where do you need to receive God’s forgiveness today? Where do you need to offer forgiveness today?

May you be quick to forgive. Blessing you with courage to let go of the things you should no longer hold onto.

  • Jesus accomplished what the law could never do on its own; free us from our sin. In Him, all debts are forgiven.

“The kingdom of God is like a king who decided to square accounts with his servants. As he got under way, one servant was brought before him who had run up a debt of a hundred thousand dollars. He couldn’t pay up, so the king ordered the man, along with his wife, children, and goods, to be auctioned off at the slave market.

“The poor wretch threw himself at the king’s feet and begged, ‘Give me a chance and I’ll pay it all back.’ Touched by his plea, the king let him off, erasing the debt.
    - Matthew 18:23-27 MSG

Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

    - Acts 13:38-39 NASB 1995

This week we read Matthew 6:9-13 from the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) version. We also read from Luke 7:41-42, 1 John 1:8-9, and Matthew 26:27-28.

What does it look like to give God your debt? His kindness is what leads us to repentance.

Blessing you to receive God’s goodness, forgiveness, and love! Amen.

  • God supplies for ALL of our needs, not just simply food for our bodies, but for every area of our lives. What is God showing you about this “daily bread?”

Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.”
    - Matthew 4:4 MSG

I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”
    - John 6:48-51 NASB 1995

And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
    - Luke 22:19 NASB 1995

We read the opening prayer from the New King James Version, Matthew 4:4 from the New American Standard Bible 1995 and The Passion Translation, in addition to John 6:32-35 TPT.

Your spirit needs sustenance from the word of God, just as your body needs sustenance from food. What does it look like to receive your daily bread from God? He is the bread of life.

Blessing you to experience God in new amazing ways! Amen.

  • When we pray “on Earth as it is in Heaven”, we are praying for the things Jesus desires. The very things he did as he walked on Earth. It’s the love of God crashing into people’s lives, causing radical change. Healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing lepers, and casting out demons.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free those who are oppressed,
    - Luke 4:18 NASB 1995

and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.”
    - Revelation 21:4 AMP

Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
    - John 5:19 NASB 1995

We also read from Revelation 21:1-4 and Colossians 3:1-2.

What does it look like in your life as you begin to pray for those around you to be set free? Who is God putting on your heart to pray for?

Praying you would learn how to release God’s goodness into the world around you. Amen!

In the opening we incorrectly reference Matthew 6:9-13. The version we read from is the New Living Translation (NLT)

  • Welcome to episode 6 of our journey through “How to Pray”, Jesus’ response when his disciples asked “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

This week, we open by reading the Matthew 6:9-13 using the VOICE translation.

saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
    - Luke 22:42 ESV

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
    - John 4:34 ESV

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
    - Romans 12:2 NASB

We also read from 1 Thes 5:14-22 ESV

Are there areas where is God leading and guiding you that perhaps, do not line up with your will? What does God want to accomplish in you and through you in this season?

Blessing you to discover the areas in your life that align with the will of God. For these areas to bring nourishment and life.

  • God’s kingdom is not of this world, yet we are called to seek it first before everything else.

This week, we open by reading Matthew 6:9-13 from the Amplified Bible.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”
    - John 18:36 NASB

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
    - Matthew 6:33 ESV

Once we discover this kingdom, entering is impossible unless we repent and be born again.

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
    - Matt 4:17 NASB

Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
    - John 3:5-7 NASB

What are you seeking first in your life right now? Is it the kingdom of God?

Blessing you to discover it and enter with joy and praise!

  • When we pray, we recognize God for who He is, our Heavenly Father.

    In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
    Your kingdom come.
Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
    - Matthew 6:9-13 TPT

After we recognize who He is, we honour and bless who He is.

For you, O Lord, are supreme over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.
    - Psalm 97:9 NLT

Hallowed Be His Name! God is supreme over all the Earth. He is Healer (Psalm 103:2-3); He is the King of Kings (Revelation 17:14); He is Merciful and Compassionate (Psalm 145:8-9); He is our Strong Fortress (2 Samuel 22:33); He is Great (Psalm 147:4-5); He is Love (1 John 4:8).

This is the God we pray to. Blessing you this week to see God in new and exciting ways!

  • Heaven is a real place. Created by God, it is where he currently resides. At this very moment, he is there, seated on His throne.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
    - Genesis1:1 NASB 1995

Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it.
    - Deuteronomy 10:14 NASB 1995

    We lift up our heart and hands Toward God in heaven;
    - Lamentations 3:41 NASB 1995

    Jesus Seated with God

So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
    - Mark 16:19 NASB 1995

God is seated in Heaven on his throne, and Jesus is seated with him. Where do we fit in?

even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
    - Ephesians 2:5-7 NASB

We also meditate on the following verses: Deuteronomy 4:39, 1 Kings 8:23, 1 Kings 8:27, Psalm 115:3, Ecclesiastes 5:2, Daniel 2:28, and 1 Peter 3:22

Blessing you to come to know your Father in Heaven. To know His lovingkindness, grace, and mercy.

Please note, we incorrectly reference the Living Bible (TLB) instead of the New Living Translation (NLT) in the opening scripture (Matthew 6:9-13) of this episode.

  • You are a child of the Living God. You are a part of this family.

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

    - Romans 8:15-17 NASB

When you look at Father God, do you see Jesus? And when you look at Jesus, do you see Father God?

“O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”

    - John 17:25-26 NLT

If God is truly the Father of all creation, what does it look like to fully embrace Him as righteous Father?

Blessing you this week to behold God in new levels of truth. Truth of who He is and truth of who you are as His beloved child.

  • Welcome to our newest series, titled When You Pray. We are going to spend the next several weeks meditating verse by verse from the prayer Jesus taught His disciples. We hope this series blesses your relationship with God, creating richness and depth in the way you pray to your Heavenly Father.

“When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

“And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

    - Matthew 6:5-8 NASB 1995

    “Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
    Hallowed be Your name.
    ‘Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
‘Give us this day our daily bread.
‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
[For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]

    - Matthew 6:9-13 NASB 1995

We read these same verses from the following translations: New Living Translation (NLT), The Passion Translation (TPT), Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC), and The Voice (VOICE).

May these be more than just words you recite, we pray they come alive for you.

  • We, as believers, are filled with the Holy Spirit. It is by His power, active and alive within us, that we are able to be a light to the world, and salt to the Earth. He leads and guides, provides wisdom and encouragement, discernment, strength, encouragement, and so much more. He is our everything. He is The Spirit of God, and we honor and adore Him.

As we wrap up this series on The Holy Spirit, we meditate on many of the verses of scripture testifying to His interactions among us. May you be blessed to know it is the same Spirit living within you right now, which lived within the followers of Jesus we read about throughout the book Acts.

We are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit
    -Acts 5:32 NKJV

The Spirit told me to go with them.
    -Acts 11:12 NKJV

One of them… showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine…
    -Acts 11:28 NKJV

Being sent out by the Holy Spirit…
    -Acts 13:4 NKJV

For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us…
    -Acts 15:28 NKJV

They were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.
    -Acts 16:6 NKJV

They tired to go to Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them .
    -Acts 16:7 NKJV

Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified.
    -Acts 18:5 NKJV

Paul felt compelled by the Spirit to go over the Macedonia.
    -Acts 19:21 NLT

The Holy Spirit tells me in city after city…
    -Acts 20:23 NLT

Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers.
    -Acts 20:28 NKJV

Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?
    -Acts 19:2 NKJV

We also read from Acts 2:4, 4:8, 9:17, and 13:52

  • The same Spirit who raised Christ Jesus from the dead, also lives within you. Your body is a temple for the Spirit of God.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
    - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NASB 1995

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
    - 2 Corinthians 3:17 NIV

We also read from Romans 8:1-17.

The Spirit of the living God dwells within you. How will you glorify your body for Him? May you come to a full realization of the freedom God has granted you! Blessing you to go forth and be amazing.

  • The Holy Spirit is the Power of the gospel. Jesus needed the Holy Spirit and so did his disciples.

John responded to them all, saying, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but He is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the straps of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
    - Luke 3:16 NASB

And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
    - John 20:22 NASB 1995

And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
    - Luke 24:49 NASB 1995

We also read about The Day of Pentecost from Acts 2.

What does it look like to be clothed with power from on high? Blessing you to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
