  • In this week's show, I talk with Anne Trufant, founder of Mission on the Mountain, about how God speaks to each of us. Anne share's a powerful encounter with Christ that she had at an early age and how that encounter changed the trajectory of her life.

From that one encounter God gave her the gift of Scripture. Anne shares that so many Catholics believe the lie Scripture is hard or that Catholics just don't know the Bible. In ministry and retreats, Anne teaches that the Bible is "our book." She says it is how you and I get to know what Jesus said, the actions he took with others and it is how you get to know him on a deep and intimate level.

So many times, women worry about the past or what will happen in the future. Women often overthink and overanalyze in order to control the outcome of different situations. Anne shares wise advice given to her by a spiritual director to "be where your feet are planted." If you are always looking for more, you're going to miss the now, which is where all of the grace can be found. The Lord has plenty of grace for this moment in your life. When you are present in the moment, this allows you to be open to where God wants to lead you. When you stop striving and resisting, you are able to hear the voice of God. Sometimes it will be a whisper in your ear, a message placed on your heart through Scripture, an image in your mind or just a deep knowing of God. Each one of us hears God voice in different ways during our faith journey. Knowing the Lord and being willing to listen will allow him to use you in ways to build up and encourage others, especially those you are most familiar with in your family, friend groups and those you encounter on a daily basis.

  • In this week's show, I share the three pillars that I teach women in retreats, through one-on-one coaching and inner healing. The pillars are encounter, transform and magnify. When you can encounter the love of the Father and fully embrace your identity as the daughter of the King, your life changes in amazing ways. It is in this identity that you find the faith and courage to boldly share your faith with others and to find healing and transformation in your physical, spiritual, mental and emotional lives.

As women, we shine our light of faith for others to see. Imagine yourself as a lighthouse shining in the darkness for others to see through your words and actions. Other women are looking at you and how you handle different situations in your life. I am sure that you have someone you look to for guidance and direction. In my life, my friend Linda, is one of my lighthouses. She has endured so much pain and suffering in her life, yet she continues to shine with joy and gratitude in all things.

Listen to this week's show to hear more about Linda and how you can be a lighthouse for those around you. The world is filled with darkness and needs your light to shine bright through your faith, by encouraging and building up others.

  • In this week's show, Haley Riney and I continue our conversation about stepping out in faith to serve the Lord. We talk specifically about how Catholic's need encouragement to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit to share words of knowledge and wisdom as a way to build up others along their faith journey.

Stepping out in courage to share your faith with others mean being uncomfortable and a times taking the risk of being rejected, but the rewards are great! Haley challenges each one of us to ask these questions each day...Lord, how can you use me today? Lord, who do you want to bless through me?

When you are willing to allow the Lord to work through you it is an opportunity to share words with someone who may be struggling and need to see the face of God. Imagine what the world would be like if each person was willing to step out in courage to share their faith with their words and actions.

  • In this show, I talk with my friend Haley Riney about her journey with the Holy Spirit. Haley and I met this past summer at Joanne Moody's LIFE Intensive in Franklin, TN. Haley is a fellow Catholic who discovered the Holy Spirit after experiencing painful injuries as an athlete and going through a heartbreaking divorce. While these situations were difficult and challenging, they introduced Haley to God's love and mercy. It was in this most difficult of times that the Holy Spirit revealed himself to her and her life was never the same.

Haley is a traveling physical therapist. She is willing and courageous to follow where God leads her. Through her obedience, she has partnered with the Holy Spirit to open the door to healing and discovering her unique God-given purpose.

Haley and I talk about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how Catholics tend to shy away from them because they are not familiar and often surrounded by uncertainty. Haley shares her journey and how the gifts have allowed her to minister and work with God to bring healing, hope and wholeness to others.

This is part one of two shows with Haley.

  • In this show, I take you on a journey with the Blessed Mother as she walks beside her son to his crucifixion. Praying the Stations of the Cross is a devotion that allows you to encounter Jesus and all he endured as he carried the cross to his death.

A few years ago, I discovered a new version of the Stations that touched my heart. At a Cursillo weekend, we prayed the Stations of the Cross from the perspective of the Blessed Mother. Each station is written as she experienced first hand the pain and suffering of her Son. As a mom, it is powerful to walk beside her and to feel her anguish.

The letters in the word cross, can help you grow deeper in your faith. In this show, I look at each letter through the eyes of the Blessed Mother.

  • In this week's show, I talk with Father Dave Pivonka. He is an author, speaker and President of Franciscan University. Fr. Dave is well known for his series, The Wild Goose, which helps you discover a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit. I recently saw Fr. Dave speak in Pittsburgh at The Magnificat Conference. His love of the Holy Spirit is contagious through his honesty and deep faith life.

In this show, Father Dave and I talk about what life can look like as you give the Holy Spirit the reigns to your life. It can sometimes be scary and uncertain, but Fr. Dave shares how before anything else you must open your heart to the love of God the Father. It is through this love that you are encouraged and equipped to go where God leads you.

As you listen to the interview, discern how active the Holy Spirit is in your life.

Do you allow the fire of the Holy Spirit to burn freely in your life as trust his lead or do you try to tame it and keep it under control out of fear of what might happen?

  • In this week's show, Jennie talks with sacred artist, Kate Capato, about her mission to help others encounter the Divine through beauty. Kate is a sacred art painter and inspirational speaker who magnifies Christ by brining to life truth, goodness and beauty through her artwork.

Kate shares that she has always had a love for beauty and art. As a child, she was always drawing, painting and creating. As she began to look to her future, she wanted to combine art and ministry to help others encounter God, but she wasn't sure how to fit them together. In college, she toured to Florence, Italy with her dance group. It was there that she discovered a sacred art school. God provided the opportunity for her to attend and through her studies she was inspired to create beautiful art that invites the faithful to encounter God's truth and goodness.

Kate says, "when we taste beauty in this life, whether it is visually or in music, in nature or smell and taste, all these different ways that we encounter beauty, really we're, we're experiencing God." Her paintings are created in prayer and she hopes that each one will lead others to the heart of Christ.

You can find more information on Kate's beautiful ministry and paintings at visualgrace.org. You will also find a list of her speaking engagements around the country.

  • In this show, I talk with Fr. Mark Nolte about a recent mission trip to Brazil where he witnessed many healings. Fr. Mark shares stories the many miracles that he witnessed, but he also talks about how these healings and miracles should and can be a normal occurrence for the church.

We discussed how many people are skeptical of healings and if they are actually possible through prayer. When asked what he would say to those people who doubt, Fr. Mark said,

"Well, I used to be one of those people many years ago. I used to mock all these healings on TV or people, you know, falling backwards. My belief changed when I experienced the Holy Spirit over 35 years ago, in a prayer group in Nashville. In that group, I began to have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit and the manifestations of the Spirit. And I realized that this is the stuff I saw on TV."

Fr. Mark talks about his journey to learn more about the Holy Spirit's gift of healing and how he attended conferences and bought books from Catholic theologians because he wanted to learn from people within the church. He says he began to understand that it was part of the early church and we got away from it for different reasons.

As Father Mark shares about the different gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they can manifest into healings and miracles, he emphasizes that you have to be grounded in a deep prayer life, because that's where it originates. It's Jesus who's doing the healing, not any of us. He shares that fear can occur when people don't have an intimate relationship with the Lord and understand his promises.

Fr. Mark says, "once you fall in love with him, you get to know him you can't help but want to share his love and his compassion with other people. This allows you to be more comfortable in praying with people in the moment and the expectation that healing can occur."

  • At the beginning of a new year, many people create new year's resolutions. They are hopeful that they will be able to reach their goals during the year. In this show, I share a different approach to setting goals for the year. So often, resolutions are made from a place of trying to "fix" what is wrong in your life.

Instead, I challenge you to reflect on the past year. Sit down with a hot cup of tea and scroll through all of the pictures on your phone from the past twelve months. Look at all of the adventures, trips, time with family and friends as you revisit the memories. I bet you'll be filled with joy and gratitude at all you experienced in 2023. It is time of gratitude and thanksgiving, but also look at the things you want to change or do differently in the new year. What changes would bring your more health, more joy, more freedom and increase your faith? Once you've answered these questions, ask yourself this simple question.

    What do I need?

What do you need in your life?

What do you need in your spiritual life?

What do you need for your body?

What do you need in your mental and emotional life?

Identify what you need and then decide how you can add it to your life.

In this show, I will share what I discerned that I need for the year and my plan to make sure I have it in abundance.

  • In this week's show, I talk with Judy Zelden. Judy is one of the original members of the Magnificat Ministry which started in New Orleans over 40 years ago. Judy shares how the ministry was created to help women support and encourage one another by sharing their personal testimony and by creating an intimate relationship with Christ. Like the Blessed Mother, all women are encouraged to receive Christ and then share him with those they encounter each day.

The Magnificat Ministry is an extension of the Charismatic Movement in the Catholic Church. Judy and I talk about Baptism in the Spirit and how the term can confuse and intimidate. We have an honest conversation about embracing the Holy Spirit and using the gifts you've been given.

This conversation is a little taste of Judy's testimony that she will be sharing at the next Magnificat Breakfast in Nashville on February 3rd. For more information on Magnificat and to reserve your seat for the meal, click here.

  • In this episode, I talk with podcast host, Kate Eschbach, about her journey into the Catholic Church and how her life was forever changed when she literally tripped over a saint. A very pregnant Kate tripped over a prayer card of St. Dymphna as she walked into her bedroom. They prayer card written in Spanish appeared out of now where and led Kate on a beautiful journey to learn more about St. Dymphna, who is the patron saint of mental illness. Connecting with St. Dymphna encouraged and inspired Kate as she encountered challenges in her family life.

  • In this week's show I talk with Fr. Dan Reehil, the host of Battle Ready with Fr. Dan, about how the Enemy works in our daily lives. The good news is that the Enemy only has as much control as you give him. God is always greater! There are thought patterns, beliefs and feelings that open the door to the Enemy wreaking havoc, creating confusion and keeping you stuck. Father Dan shares stories from his work over the years as the exorcist of the diocese. Once you begin to recognize these situations, learn how to turn your focus back to God for healing and transformation. God is always greater!

  • In this week's show, I talk with my friend and colleague in ministry, Joan Watson. After years of working in the Diocese of Nashville as the Director of Faith Formation, Joan took her dream job with Verso Ministries in South Bend, Indiana. Her new role is to prepare the hearts and souls for pilgrims before, during and after their pilgrimage.

    Joan shares,

"One thing I think it's important to remember about pilgrimage is that it is the spiritual journey. It doesn't necessarily have to be internationally. It doesn't necessarily need to be someplace far away. Because really, a pilgrimage is actually just a microcosm of our life.

That's something, so our new podcast with Verso is called In Via. On the way, on the journey, and the podcast really focuses on the fact that we're all on this journey, like the spiritual life, the Christian life, daily life is a journey, and I think this pairs so well with your ministry, Jennie, because I think we can get kind of bored and stuck in a rut and not know where we're going.

But when we begin to view our lives as this journey, ultimately, hopefully this journey to heaven, but this journey that we are accompanied by different people along the way, we have different experiences along the way, we fall off the path sometimes along the way, but that our whole life is a journey.

When we begin to see life that way, we realize that every life, every day is exciting. Every day has a new opportunity. And so occasionally on this pilgrimage of life, that's when St. Augustine first uses the word pilgrimage. To talk about the Christian life, not to talk about a trip to the Holy Land or a trip to Rome."

Listen to the podcast to hear Joan share insight, aha moments and how a pilgrimage can impact your faith life. She also share about an upcoming pilgrimage to some unique and not so well known Marian sites.

  • In this week’s show, A Medjugorje Heart, I talk with my friend, Michelle Contich, who just returned from her first pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Michelle shares that she discovered the gifts of Medjugorje as she sought healing during a difficult season of life. The gifts that Michelle unwrapped were all about God’s great love. The love found in the sacrament of Reconciliation, being called to just love others and how love leads to joy and peace in your heart.

We live in a world that needs more love! It sounds trite to say, but what the world is lacking is an awareness of the source of true love. I am reminded of the Beatles song, All You Need Is Love. It is true that all you need is love, but the source of that love is God the Father! The world tends to confuse God’s love with love of the “flesh” or worldly desires. The world’s love leads to confusion, pain and will leave you searching in all the wrong places.

  • In my recent podcast Divine Discoveries, I shared the abundant connections that God has placed in my life over the past six months. One of those connections is Joanne Moody. In the podcast, I explained how reading Joanne’s book encouraged me to take more risks in sharing my faith. Her book, Everyday Supernatural: Experiencing God’s Unexpected Manifestation in Your Life, challenged me to look outside the box of how I walk with the Holy Spirit.

I was honored and blessed to have a conversation with Joanne about the Gift of healing and the Holy Spirit in this week’s show, The Gift Healing with Joanne Moody

As a cradle Catholic, I have learned over and over about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I have attended conferences over the years where the Holy Spirit has been active and present, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized that the gifts of the Spirit are an important part of my faith journey. A part of my faith journey that I have neglected. In the past, I’ve taken inventories to see which charisms or gifts God has blessed me with, but I realized that I often limit these gifts and use them sparingly.

These limitations often keep me stuck in fear and doubt instead of stepping out in faith to serve the Lord. Click here to read the entire blog.

  • In this show, Jennie explores her journey with the Holy Rosary and how it is an important part of her prayer life.

Jennie shares, I can remember feeling a sense of dread as a child when someone would say, "let's pray the rosary." I didn't understand the rosary and I didn't understand its importance. In all honesty, it took a while for me to mature in my faith so that the rosary became a devotion. It became something that I looked forward to rather than something that I had to do. Looking back, my devotion to the rosary began to grow as I became a mom. When I had these little people that I was caring for and there were times that I had no idea what I was doing so I felt completely overwhelmed. It was at those times that I turned to the Blessed Mother. I would obviously go to my mom here on earth who is a wealth of information, but I was also reminded that we have this Heavenly mother who is there to guide us and lead us. As a mom, especially as my children got older,  when they started driving, when they were more independent and I wasn't always with them that I felt this neediness that I needed somehow to pray even more for them. That's when I started relying on the rosary. That's when I started picking up the rosary beads and praying for my children. It wasn't always daily. Sometimes, I might pray the rosary during Advent or during Lent but it wasn't probably until the last 10 years that the rosary has become part of my daily routine. It's just part of my prayer time every morning.

I can tell the days that I take the time and pray the rosary, and I can tell the times that I either rushed through it or put it off for later, that things seem a little more chaotic. I'm not as grounded as I am when I pray the rosary first thing in the morning. The rosary has impacted my life and I want to inspire you to pick up your beads and come to know Jesus and the love of the father through the rosary. Mary will take your hand and she will walk you through the mysteries so that you will come to know and love her son and a whole new deeper way.

The Rosary grew in importance the first time Jennie visited Medjugorje. As she was riding a bus with a group of pilgrims, they were praying the Rosary as they arrived in the little village of Medjugorje. Jennie shares how that Rosary was different, more powerful and how she immediately fell in love with the prayers. It was through this knowledge of the Rosary that Jennie felt called to pray the Rosary daily for one year during the pandemic on Facebook Live.
