    Bluebird Broadcast's mission is to perpetuate stories worth listening to -- inherently meaning that the broad spectrum of representation in age, class, race, gender, sexuality, and ability strive to be honored. Both in the stories told and by whom they are written and performed, it is important to the project that they are done justice and granted ample awareness.

    Submissions are open to playwrights worldwide, with no restrictions, as are voice actor applications. For production, we choose pieces that align with the Bluebird Theatre Company mission statement; that bring to life stories that spark curiosity, challenge perception, and inspire human connection, with the aim to leave an indelible, positive imprint on the soul.

As it makes erratic maneuvers over Tacoma, an air traffic controller reaches out to an unlikely culprit: a luggage handler looking for answers at 17,000 feet. This hybrid fiction/found play is based on transcripts from the 2018 Horizon Air incident.

  • You shouldn’t pick up hitchhikers. But Philip’s got a lot on his mind as he drives through this relentless night storm, so he opens his door to a woman on the roadside. She calls herself a collector, and she carries a little, clinking bag. But what is she collecting on a night like this? Will Philip make it to his destination, or does he even know where this dark road is leading him? One thing’s for sure – picking up The Stranger in the Storm is going to change everything.
