  • Jedi Insights Sometimes to move forward we must take a step back. Jedi Realism has been a life path for many since the 1990s when the internet suddenly made our world a much smaller place. Jedi Realism has been an evolving path that stems from the original movies, rpg games, extended universe timeline novels and of course the the video games that have been released. Jedi realism has also adapted teachings and principles from many religions and philosophical life paths and martial arts. In this series I am going to deep dive into both Stoicism and recovery and how these paths have influenced my part of Jedi realism. I am not going to say this series is fact or truth for the community in fact I am simply asking the listener to have an open mind to the perspective and use what is useful for you. • Lessons from the Old Republic. In this series we will be discussing lessons from the Jedi Order that we saw between The Phantom Menace to the end of rRevenge of the Sith novels. We will be discussing lessons from the EU books and the Clone Wars series while a valuable resource of knowledge and wisdom will not be covered as it is its own series. Certainly someone will ask if this series will be from a basic life concept, or philosophical point of view or will it be a recovery point of view. The answer is simple but complex and that answer is yes. I understand why people may see these 3 as different perspectives but for me they intertwined and I do not know where one ends and the other begins. For whatever reason you listen I hope you find something in these episodes that make you think about the concepts discussed and perhaps apply to the path you walk Love and Light--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/arkinneajeditemplar/support

  • Jedi PraxeumJedi Realism, Jediism, The Jedi Path has been a life path for many since the mid 1990s and has been a life path that has saved my life in 2003. Jedi Realism is a combination of lessons from the Extended Universe books mixed with other paths such as Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity, Knights Templar, Samurai and many aspects from Martial Philosophy as well as other areas aspects. The New Jedi Order series contained 19 novels, 2 ebooks and a handful of short stories and lasted for 4 years. The books were released every few months between 1999 to 2003. In star wars time the books ran from 21 to 25 years after the return of the Jedi. At this point in time the Jedi were around for about 14 years under Luke Skywalker with the Jedi Praxeum located on Yarvin 4. With the Jedi being in their infant stage training was fairly basic and upon competition the new knight would declare their mission and go out into the galaxy. Calling these phase of the Jedi an order would be using the term very generously as there was no real rank or structure to the organization. Now in the real world the Jedi community was also at its infancy stage as it was barely around online for maybe 3 or 4 years on yahoo and a few forums. As each book was released life lessons were taken from the books and doctrine for what we now call Jedi Realism or Jediism became established. As I go through this series I will be discussing passages, quotes and lessons taken from the books, as well as discussing community history and how these books actually helped to save my life as my road to recovery started in February of 2003. In truth I read many of these books in the first 2 months of my recovery. For one reason I read them since I enjoyed star wars, the next reason was because if I could keep my mind focused on something I could block out the cravings and craziness associated with drug withdrawal and finally because I believed these books had many lessons that applied both to my chosen life path but also to my recovery. Many people who leave active addiction find their answers in the big book and religion such as Christianity. I found my path to redemption in rejoining the Jedi community, working on sobriety and unknowingly helping to lay down the roots of Jedi Realism as we know it today. I am hoping to get through this series in 18 months but honestly I am expecting it to take up to 2 years with weekly episodes.
